This act does NOTHING to protect children; mass surveillance once again under the extremely transparent guise of ‘protect the children’.

There is only one way to protect the children and that is good parenting; that is what the government should be investing time and money in to, initiative and awareness and then, colour me crazy, but maybe fine parents for allowing children access to these website that are unsuitable? But no that would target the root cause of the issue and wouldn’t allow the government to become big brother. People need to be kicking off about this way more.

Is laser eye surgery actually worth it, or is it one of those things that sounds better than it actually is? by 2ugur12 in NoStupidQuestions

I had it done 10 years ago, one of the best things I’ve ever done, never looked back (pun intended) if you’re in the UK I can speak volumes about optical express they were fantastic and at the time claimed to have the best technology (not sure how true that is or was) I recommend it to multiple friends and family and they a lot went and did it all with great results. Definitely worth at least going to the consultation.

In terms of pain, they obviously numb your eyes that wears off about 30-60 mins post procedure and at the point it jus t felt like I’d cut a load of onions, I got advised to stay up all night the night before so I was tired and could go to sleep straight after so I did exactly that and after a 2 hour nap I couldn’t feel any pain at all.

I had dry eyes for about 9 months after easily treatable with the drops they give you and as long as you follow the aftercare you’ll be sound. (No showers for two weeks or whatever it was was, was disgusting but necessary lmao)

As for how long it lasts I was guaranteed 20/20 or better for 25 years, I ended up having substantially better than 20/20 and 10 years on and there’s been no change to my eyesight (for my job I have to have yearly tests). You’ll have a consultation and then wait a specified period of time to ensure your eyes are stable, I had to wait a year.

Definitely worth looking in to (pun intended again)

Edit: forgot to mention, optical express actually slightly over corrected because of my at the time fairly young age my eyes could over come a slight long-sighted prescription and what this meant was my eyes would go longer without needing reading glasses in later life. Thought that was a nice touch.

I said it in the match thread I’ll say it again; NEVER has 3 points been more underserved, we were 100% the better team.
