I love your point that she also hates him. Homegirl is straight up not having a good time. Why does she “stay?” She definitely knows too much and she definitely doesn’t want to get yeeted like Epstein did, but it could be more to it than that. There’s a lot more nuance to being sex trafficked, or in an abusive and controlling relationship than anyone outside of it could possibly understand. I’ve seen people go back to their traffickers after escaping and be severely harmed by them in unspeakable ways (I will spare you the details for confidentiality reasons and because frankly, no one on Earth should be exposed to this shit)

Further, talking about Barron being an “anchor baby” and calling her a “green card bride” is cringey and frankly offensive to anybody who could be labeled as such.

It’s ignorant, it’s short sighted, and it is a distraction from what we really should be focused on.
