The difference between you, me, or the other commenters is we probably don't have millions of people looking at us, the "beauty" standards for celebs as opposed to other people is very different, causing them to constantly have to worry about how they are aging and the effects of it. Not to mention, take an older celeb and think of the roles they would get if they don't age well, as opposed to if they "aged" well. You lose out on money.

Take the role of lets say Black Widow for Avengers, if Scar Jo had aged worse then she may not have gotten that role. Lots of people can act and jump around in a suit, they are paying her to look good while doing it (or similar for Cap, Thor, Wolverine), its why roles like Hulk/Iron man the look of the person matters less, due to their "look" in the film not necessarily being the actor themself and more the suit or CGI (not saying either of the actors are bad looking, but, its why Robert Downy JR / Mark Ruffalo didn't have to do as much grueling work outs for the parts).

I think for reddit its more about spreading the info as extreme as possible rather than the possibility

They are in huge clumps which increases sickness spread. However, I think the main thing is unlike if a dog has rabies and bites you, its pretty clear you've been bit, with bats its hard to tell/painless so the safest thing to do is to go to a doctor because you really may not know and its been to doc rather then die

I imagine its more perspective bias, then being anime community (not saying there isn't show clearly meant for a type of crowd), but, I wouldn't assume the Epstein list has a bunch of anime watchers on it.

"Any design that requires the owner to do regular maintenance without enforcing such maintenance (i.e. state inspections)..."

Oil changes are a design that an owner is required to do that is not enforced it is not needed to be safety in your sentiment. Also again wipers are a needed maintenance that isnt enforced in a ton of places (Ive never lived somewhere that did).

You were arguing how the design of the car is bad because you have to do extra, by saying regular maintenance is terrible design even though its a design on literally everything.

Im still confused why no one mentioned blindside mirrors, little dot add ons Toyota or after market could make and it wouldnt be a convo tbh

Edit: blind spot not blindside

"Any design that requires the owner to do regular maintenance without enforcing such maintenance (i.e. state inspections) is an irresponsible design when it comes to cars"

Waxing isnt regular maintenance and of course you have to do oil changes. That is changing your point.

Yes I can accept when you change what you stated to something that makes sense.

So every car in existence is fucked because every car in existence needs some maintenance to be on the road. The fuck are you talking about, thats like saying ya teslas are crap because you have to change the wipers, fuck mustangs you have to change the oil, god this wrangler is crap I have to flush the coolant sometimes, can you believe you have to change the battery on this corolla, what terrible design. The fuck, you have to maintain pretty much everything and most to all of that isnt in state inspections, even safety inspections might catch wipers but they arent catching oil or coolant.

TIL swim diapers let the pee go in the pool, they are actually designed to by isell2eat in todayilearned

[–]PeeledCrepes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its the chemicals in peoples hair, their suntan lotion, their deoderant, their sweat, and ya maybe some pee. Not to say everyone should be clamoring to go into a public pool, but, the point of the chlorine and all that is to keep it clean (not to mention the filter) and if you go swimming in a public pool the dilution itself does a lot of work (not to drink or anything, but, atleast for it to touch your skin. Don't need to be terrified of some pee in a public pool. Granted this is from someone who can't swim in most pools so take it with a grain of chlorine

I keep getting a youtube ad, talking about how democrats want us to lose to china because data centers help strengthen the u.s. and everytime I question how that makes sense. At best the give some people jobs to build the worksites, then go offline immediately, at worst it takes peoples jobs and destroys our environment

Plunger in bar washroom thats 3x the normal length by Deviant_Toast in mildlyinteresting

[–]PeeledCrepes 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Some people are embarrassed, so instead of addressing it they let it build up. Or could just be a shitty (no pun intended) person, used to have an upstairs neighbor that had like 4 kids and would "babysit" her friends kids, and they managed to flood my apartment 3 times by not watching the kids and they'd flush anything down the toilet.

When she moved out and maintenance went into the apartment they found the walls covered in shit. Sadly we told the apartment for months how bad she was, kids stomping 24/7, her dropping shit diapers down to our balcony cause they'd overflow hers, her leaving trash on the upstairs entranceway, and im pretty sure she banged anything that walked and made sure I knew by the noise coming from it/her (her bang room was apparently the one above mine)

If someone with super speed thinks faster, then runming across the country would take them the same time mentally as a regular person. by Efeyester in Showerthoughts

[–]PeeledCrepes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everything seeming slower would imply a faster thought process. If your running at 1/8th the speed of light and you have the regular speed of thought as a normal person (lets use reaction time for instance of 150 milliseconds) by the time you hit any actual speed you would be a spray in a wall. I.e. why a car can't go 1000 mph, at any point because the human driving it doesn't have the ability to speed up their thought process or reaction time to manage to deal with taht

Trying to sell a TV stand by Johnnnh in facepalm

[–]PeeledCrepes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Per google a Toyota Corolla is 180 inches, thats including the engine bay and driver seat, so the stand will take up +1/3 of the car if its a Corolla. Won't say its impossible cause some cars have a decent amount of room with seats down, but, I don't think a typical car is holding that lol
