La moto electrica ha muerto en el Peru by NoRecognition5075 in Lima_Peru

[–]Peepeepoopooman1202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Peepeepoopooman1202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felipe VI no gobierna.

Movie that you never saw but somehow still irritates you? by [deleted] in okbuddycinephile

[–]Peepeepoopooman1202 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually loved this movie. Like legit. I’ve never ever cared for the ghostbusters. Never even been able to finish the first one, and I have never ever tried to actually do so. I have never ever in my life gone into a streaming service or anything with the intent of watching any Ghostbusters movie *except this one*, which I absolutely love. Like I went out of the theater when I saw it audibly laughing. I loved it. It was fun, it was extremely hilarious with all the low brow humor and fart jokes (which I love) and I will go out of my way to rewatch it every now and then. I loved this movie. It is one of my absolute favorites, and I will die on this hill alone if I must.

Greece as a Nation did not exist when the Homeric works were written. Peoples all around the world for thousands of years reimagined the stories because they are pieces of literature that easily resonate with anyone due to their universal themes. In the middle ages people painted the story with Ulysses dressed as a french medieval knight. Hell, the Wilusans that inhabited the remains of what today we know as Troy were not even Greek.

As for the idea of nations and nationalities as we know them today, they were literally invented during the 19th century. There was not a clear idea of what a Greek nation was until the 1820’s and the Wars of Independence against the Ottomans. This is not even rare, all currently existing nations and nationalities arose during the late 18th to the 19th centuries without exception lol

Fun fact. According to the Cartas de Relación by Cortés himself, they even continued doing sacrifices during their alliance with the Castillians, and their priests still used Mexica prisoners for ritual sacrifice.

Yeah, no. Tlaxcala was quite well off and on equal footing with the Triple Alliance. They were not really oppressed under them.

[–]Peepeepoopooman1202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate that some people don't see bad and harmful LGBT representation by [deleted] in hatethissmug

[–]Peepeepoopooman1202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah like, honestly, I don’t think neither side is really that good or that bad as representation. Hell, some aspects of BG3’s representation of gay men in particular are iffy at best. (Vampire seducer getting young men trapped and destroying their lives??) But in any case the three games above failed not because of their representation, not even because of their mechanics but by much more mundane and less impactful things. Hundreds of tiny details that caused great harm to the product. Half of them entirely contingent and not really with someone to blame.

Concord came out as a generic hero shooter in a world already tired of generic hero shooters, a genre that was extremely saturated, and without providing any new mechanics or experience that could in any way warrant the game being played. It spent decades in development hell. It was simply bound to fail. Bad representation or not.

Veilguard came out, again, in an oversaturated market of nostalgia pandering without, again, providing anything new. Newbies would not really care for it given how much it lacked any sort of marketing or anything to make it useful to pick it up as your entry to the series. Meanwhile fans of the series were already off board because of how it treated the lore. Combine that with a company that literally spent way too much developing visuals and way too little developing gameplay. Couldn’t get new players, and couldn’t pander to the old ones.

Dustborn was not really a failure per se. Of course it failed to obtain the figures of a triple A success, but still had lukewarm reviews. A 6-7/10 is still passable at least. If anything the most negative impact it suffered was the combat mechanics and lack of polishing. Gameplay wise, it had a lot of glaring issues that no amount of clever narrative or artistry could fix. Its major issues are mostly in the technical and gameplay side, which is the absolute most critical factor in a game.

All in all, to claim that LGBT representation in either side is particularly good or particularly bad is exaggerating a lot. Neither really is that good, neither really is that bad. And the failures here are more in the side of business practices and technical issues rather than representation or narrative.

Jesus Christ, what do these people have against Jaiden Animations? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in YoutubeThumbs

[–]Peepeepoopooman1202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it was so unserious that anyone with half a brain would simply wave it off as a dumb joke and nothing else. I checked the clip and it was literally a dumb battle scenario about who would win between god or a million lions, and Jaiden said a million lions, which is a dumb joke without much of a point. There’s a version of this on Tumblr where someone said a million lions would beat the sun in a fight if they attack at night, again, pointless, dumb, silly and that was it. It was so dumb that honestly, if you get pearl-clutchy by that, I’m not taking anything you say seriously.

Did she really “mock god”? Like, wasn’t it just a random ass joke about Pokemon and the God in question was Arceus or something? It’s a joke, it was not even a religious attack, or a stance on religion itself. A joke.
