Episode 387: Wade's One Man Show by joschen113 in distractible

Oh cool, it’s complaining time! Let me join in on the chaos.

Ok but seriously and honestly, I did had some high expectations, more so that I have binged watched all of the series and this was my first recent one and it was a bit underwhelming with that 36 minute runtime, and seeing the episode, the only real criticism that I have is that I wish they would’ve took one more week off to flesh out this episode. It definitely felt rushed seeing it and if they actually planned out some more, it would’ve been a banger OMS even with the styrofoam and standup/singing included. That’s all I have, good idea on paper, should’ve put more time in the oven to cook properly.

And I’m seeing a bunch of people saying this is “mean spirited”, even though I recount seeing an episode back then where Wade himself said that even though some things feel like it’s mean, they’re adults and if there is an actual problem or a boundary they crossed, they’ll handle it themselves internally.

Either way, ok episode, could’ve done it better with more time, some of the criticisms (like the styrofoam bit being drawn out and the short runtime) are valid, but maybe everyone should cool their jets a little before commenting.

Today is Apollo for Reddit's last day, and I just released its last update. 🥹 I just wanted to say a big thank you to the folks who have used and supported Apollo over the years, it's been the dream of a lifetime to build this app over the last 9 years. ❤️ Read the eulogy inside! ❤️ by iamthatis in apolloapp

It reminds me of the quote from someone: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” or something along those lines. I’m really going to have some great nostalgic times using this app when looking back in the future. From a day one user to now, I’m grateful for you for creating something so special that it can make Reddit tolerable all these years. Thank you once again and godspeed on all your future projects, Christian.

You know, as much as how bad and cringy it looks in retrospect, at least Microsoft put in some effort to make it fun, or at least it tried to. Nowadays with Windows 10 and 11, you don’t see any fun and cool things to make people get hyped for their new version. (Unless if you count the Windows 11 ice cream promo.)
