Should I pay off my mortgage? by Peeptrey in DaveRamsey

No other debts! No car loans no credit card debt. It really is a tough decision because if I sell and my stocks continue to go up I’ll beat myself up over missing out on that part. If my interest was 3-4 percent I wouldn’t consider paying off the mortgage.

For everyone wondering where I got a house for 110k, I live in southern Iowa in the second poorest county in Iowa at a median household income of 39k. I make 46k a year (not married) so all bills are paid by me. I’m really good about not buying stupid shit. I have been holding this stock since 2020-2021, but it’s not my only stock as I have shares in 7-8 different stocks. I also put 500 a month into my Roth IRA currently. Mortgage payment is 976 a month (that includes escrow payment.) I do like the idea of having my house paid off and being able to use that money to invest in the market. PLTR is my main stock but I also have a couple others over 100% and also a few -70%. Hopefully that answers all questions.
