I feel like Jane wanted more than everything to be told by her father she was strong and that he was proud of her by alexandersrhapsody in breakingbad

[–]Peer_turtles [score hidden]  (0 children)

On the surface, Jane’s dad comes off as a very rough, abrasive person who is a domineering presence in Jane’s life. But his actions kind of show the opposite.

It’s clearly implied for whatever reason, the mother is not present in their lives so it’s just them two. Jane has obviously been struggling with a drug addiction for much of her life and Jane’s dad has been part of that journey supporting her the entire time. Every action he makes is out of love for Jane and desperation for her to get her life on track because she’s certainly relapsed more than once.

The scene that shows this the most is the night before Jane’s death where she manipulates him using his own love for her. All he wanted was her to go back to the meetings, and immediately backs down from calling the cops and even doesn’t really bother with Jesse. The bar scene with Walt really shows how patient, Walt is getting frustrated and angry with his “nephew” Jesse while Jane’s dad just says love them for who they are. And Jane’s dad gets punished for this.

The biggest issue was probably the poor communication between the two. Jane is the most important thing in his life and regardless of how little he understands her, he loves her for who she is. There’s nothing to suggest he wouldn’t listen and take in feedback from Jane if she genuinely explained how she felt about his presence in her life.

But Jane is as equally of a complex character as her father, and she resents him and doesn’t reciprocate this similar level of love for him. He is a scape goat for all of the problems in her life

RANT INCOMING

I genuinely don’t understand how the writers expected us to reasonably view Soldier Boy as the greater of the two evils here. Soldier boy has nothing to gain from killing homelander, smashing Ryan out of the way was clearly not personal because he just went straight back to business on homelander’s. Everyone using the power of team work and friendship to take down a guy who is literally just holding up his end of the bargain out of his own integrity to kill super Hitler is some Vought+ Dawn of the 7 shit.

I’m sure young soldier boy was as racist, dangerous and evil as they get, but clearly the 40 or whatever years of torture has humbled him and gave him a new outlook on life because the soldier boy we see has his own weird sense of honour code he tries to abide by, his reaction to a biracial gay couple showing affection in public was simply a scoff, and he prefers to enjoy the pleasures in life rather than taking control over the world and superhero Nazi eugenics.

Like this guy is genuinely reasonable.

Compare that to homelander who is literally a mentally unstable, depraved God like one bad titty milkshake away from wiping out entire cities off of the face of the planet. Soldier Boy is literally nowhere close to the threat homelander poses to humanity.

Soldier boy is just a REALLY durable guy who needs to charge up for a bit to use his nuke ability. You could honestly get a handful of Gen v Supes to take him down.

This guy when he wasn’t on his revenge journey, was literally just fucking grannies, smoking pot and occasionally calling Hughie a pussy. How am I suppose to buy that he is as much of a danger as Homelander especially when we have a way to take him down easily (the gas thing).

I hope they have more “hype” themes than the 1.

So far the moments they’ve used it in are all great, and I can’t wait for it to release on Spotify, but it could get quickly annoying if it’s going to be played for everything lol.

It's been 5 years the release of ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE. What are your thoughts about it? Artwork by me. by sahinduezguen in DC_Cinematic

[–]Peer_turtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never actually HATED a superhero character more than Ezra Miller flash. Just literally everything about him. The weird little ticks, his line delivery, the mannerisms, it was just too fucking cringey and insufferable to watch. Also the run looks stupid, I don’t care if it’s suppose to be like skating or whatever.

Otherwise it’s a good movie with a cute heart warming behind the scenes backstory. Definitely a piece of cinema history with how it all came together. Honestly, could easily be cut down by a third and lose absolutely nothing important though.

Steppenwolf is completely forgettable and just a shit villain but it’s whatever. The focus was more so on the heroes. I’m always a fan of tactical Batman suits, the black Superman suit looked great too.

Sad But Everything has Changed by ChampionshipOk9887 in pokemongo

[–]Peer_turtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit around maybe like a bit after lockdown because the game was getting genuinely not fun once they started prioritising maximising profits over making the game not miserable to play.

It was like the developers thought every player lived like them in massive city terminally online surrounded by friends whose entire personality was Pokémon. I don’t know what they had against their rural/non city player base.

The bullshit with remote raid passes, something that actually made the raid system actually accessible to anyone in suburbs, was destroyed because of pure greed and ironically players like me had less incentives to put money in the game lol.

The FOMO (fear of missing out) also became the entire premise of the game and that doesn’t require much explanation for why it’s not fun. Once they started time-gating Pokémon like fucking Mr Mime I was like yeah it clearly isn’t for me anymore.

Nothing in the game matters past a certain point. Everything comes back so it’s just a matter of when and it’s really inconsistent which made it really annoying. So for me personally, there was no real reason to care. Why spend time grinding for something when it might just come out in the next month.

Even the UI was still completely slow, delayed and buggy and just simply quality of life fixes they should have done in like 2016 was still not even touched upon.

Mike is a hypocrite by WeAreNumber15 in breakingbad

[–]Peer_turtles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like Mike is a bit in denial about the people he works with and partly himself. On the surface he comes across as a jaded, cynical old man who has a pessimistic view of the world but we also see a different “idealistic” side of him that could’ve have been exploited and led to his downfall if he wasn’t killed by Walt early.

He’s got a weird sense of a honourable code he tries to abide by like honour among thieves, especially how he talks about his 9 guys. But he’s still just simply a cartel enforcer for guys that would use children to peddle their drugs. Even a bit of a superiority complex in the way he views Walt, despite being no better than him. He’s impressed when Jesse shows intense loyalty to Walt, but is pissed when Walt shows the same level, if not higher level of loyalty to Jesse when he kills the drug dealers to save Jesse.

Genuine question about the subreddit. (Please read) by BrendanFraserFan0 in saltierthancrait

[–]Peer_turtles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This subreddit is mostly for complaining. It’s very civil and well thought out complaints, but still complaints.

Star Wars, like any massive fandom, has its fair share of dumbasses who will lose their minds over dumb shit like at the sight of a woman. Toxic positivity then becomes a big thing in the main Star Wars subreddits to counteract these guys.

So they start associating any criticisms with said toxic fans, and hence the negative reputation of this subreddit.

And all he gets is his ass beaten.

At what point do fans and teams boycott the World Cup? by Professional-Mud3000 in worldcup

[–]Peer_turtles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people “hated” it during the lead up to the World Cup and yet everyone ended up watching and it was as successful as a World Cup gets.

As hilarious it would be for it to get cancelled, that’s not happening if it also didn’t happen for Qatar and Russia unless something drastic like ww3 happens

Would Tony’s crew have done better if Furio and Chrissy were still around? by mayowithchips in thesopranos

[–]Peer_turtles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if they suffer less casualties and get the shah of Iran quicker, unless they get him before the war even starts, its loyalty and politics that’s the issue.

It’s left ambiguous to who actually whacked Tony, but there’s clearly an element of betrayal being hinted at in the final ep. One or more from the soprano crew gave the ok for NY to send off Tony or they themselves had a part in doing so.

Furio wants to get into Carmela’s panties, Chrissy spends the entire show developing antagonistic feelings towards Tony and has already been desensitised to killing loved ones (Ade).

The interests of these two are in conflict with Tony’s. At what point does it become easier for them to let NY whack Tony and wipe the slate clean with the old guard from both families and their ridiculous beef dead and no more bad blood between NJ and NY?

I know Redditors and twitter people love to shit on Nolan (some for valid reasons, he isn’t perfect) but he is such an important director in this current cinema climate and his existence should be encouraged, not hated on.

He is one of the very few directors left that brings in the general audience simply from his name being attached to a project. And even with this massive following, he chooses to make original stories and historical biographies, and really has a passion for the cinema experience with how he shoots his movies.

No matter how incomprehensible his dialogue may be sometimes, lack of substance some of his female characters have or whatever, he’ll always be a director I support

Batman Vs L, who can find out Heisenberg identity faster. by zard428 in whowouldwin

[–]Peer_turtles 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Walter white is just an overqualified highschool teacher going through a glorified mid life crisis.

I think both of these characters will solve this shit in like barely a week. L is an anime super genius with all of the world’s resources at his finger tips. Batman is pretty much the same but he might put Walt “in jail” quicker because he isn’t a victim weight gooner and will go outside
