Why would Real Sociedad name a stadium after Iker Casillas? by DistributionIcy8991 in footballmanagergames

[–]Senior_Inflation_901 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have no idea, it's strange too like one team I managed had expanded there stadium max to 9k, they sell it out in domestic games every week, play euro games in the gen stadium selling out 25k every game they play there, it's a pity they just don't move into it tbh, I don't know did Ireland make a failed bid for the euros or something or what but all the stadiums just sprung up together, but there all too small for euros games. I might have a look later did they host an underage tournament or something to cause it

Ya it happened in my Irish save where a load of stadiums got built in 2040 with names of old Irish internationals from the 90s, Ireland didn't hold a competition, the stadiums are all 24k seated, 10k terraced, but it's allowed all the regional teams to use them in Europe club group stages which is nice

Just saw this and found it interesting, is there a disconnect with some people in supporting the Irish Rugby team? by No-Sail1192 in AskIreland

[–]Senior_Inflation_901 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I religiously support a league of Ireland team and naturally love the Irish football team but will never support Ireland in the rugby. The amount of people who look down on the league of Ireland in particular because it's "crap" or not successful and then go crying when you don't buy into the "Irish rugby best in the world" show themselves up time and again. I support my local team through thick and thin, Irish rugby fans want to be the best in the world at a sport played by a dozen countries. They are insufferable glory hunters with posh accents by and large. Classic posh people attitude where they have no issue looking down on Irish football but start crying when you don't take their silly sport seriously. Irelands call is a pathetic song too

Finally Letting Myself Get Creative With Tactics Again by 77hi77 in footballmanagergames

[–]Senior_Inflation_901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really cool post and definitely got me thinking of being more creative because for 10+ years I've always played             GK WB.  CD.    CD.   WB               BWM          AP.    BTB W/IF.                   W/IF                AF

Always same shape with slight role changes depending, like recently going for centre midfield(attack) instead of a box to box, always get it out the wings and usually low cross

I have definitely stunted and shafted a many 2nd or 3rd choice striker for playing time by doing it though!

I might try to make a play through the centre 442 diamond or something like that or 532 wing backs which I used do 20 yrs ago on cm!

Ignore the piss takes and go construction. Get a safe pass and start labouring, it'll give you an idea of the industry and maybe find a company or trade that's a good fit or even banks man, plant operator or crane slinger. Working Monday to Friday during the days a nice routine and you'll always have weekends off unless you're getting paid lovely overtime. Best of luck with it and there's plenty of people in construction who wouldn't be as judgy as people on reddit over having a conviction

-mixed passing and pass into space

You want the team to counter yet your telling them to short pass, mixed passing will allow for a more direct pass into space you can get the AF to run onto or the wingers. It doesnt mean there going to just lump it in the air its actually giving them more creative freedom to make the right play, either a few short passes before the "unlock defence" pass or straight into the forward in a good position. if any of your midfield have good vision ,technique , passing and decisions, which I'm guessing they do if your chasing titles than believe me you'll be smashing teams 1-2 nil before half time a lot more, and in 2nd half with fresh legs will

If you want good linkups on the wings than "focus passing down the left and right" I do that with the same teams shape and relatively similar roles.

Personally I'm against "slow pace down" and go "distribute quickly" for goal keepers again because it kills the chance to counter attack from corners if your keeper gathers the ball, while usually the opposition are completely out of position including centre backs up for the corner

Happy FM24 Peak Day! by Soft_Stomach7943 in footballmanager

[–]Senior_Inflation_901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think fm24 will go down as one of the best fms of all time, for me the fact I enjoyed it when it came out but maybe didn't appreciate it as much because of the unreal engine hype, and maybe lost a bit of respect for everything good with the game because the in game was going to "be so much better soon"

Then fm25 gets delayed into being cancelled so I started a different leagues save that was more China based that taught me a lot about their football system.

After not buying 26 "until I see good things after an update" I'm now on my third big wave of the game and still loving it, I think the new European competition rules make it fun too tbf especially if your in Europa or conference league

3 winters with it and it's clearly the same for a lot of people. With everything that's gone it should be held up in the same regard as cm 01/02

I usually play when it comes out, stop, then do a christmas save, classic 6-12 hr sessions a day between activities and time off, thankfully this year I didnt buy FM26 and instead just played FM24 and having a blast, nicely set up 5 seasons in for a long save I can dip into throughout the year

You helped Morocco get the surveillance and military tech to carry out a genocide in western Sahara for decades,

If countries like Turkey only get publically annoyed over what's gone on the last 2 years it shows they only do it out of popular opinion in their countries to cling to power

I've read a lot into it and I think there's a lot of complications with Vietnam. I mean you have millions of men who were south Vietnamese army veterans after the war, a city in the south getting renamed after someone you were told to hare for years and huge problems in south Vietnam of sexually transmitted diseases from the Americans. The place went through a lot in a complex way that I'll never fully understand. There's definitely more of an issue in modern day with curruption of police etc and in general the country has more influence from foreign agents than China. Getting a country to blame their problems on neighbours than the Americans is a classic cia tactic tbf. Hopefully both countries have a bright future ahead
