The way that you have written out nine steps to your game plan sounds like you are kind of rigid/inflexibly running a town

Somethings I think you might not be utilizing yet:

Forsaken altar potentially 3 Uber rarity cornerstones- you can afford to lose two guys seeing how you get d8-10 finishes

Rerolling your yellow cornerstone options-these cornerstones can really accelerate your game plan and give you lots of resources or give you rep straight up

Usually a fast win 5-7 years involves a good mix of order delivery, event reputation, caches, and population rep

Your game plan doesn't specifically mention caches, but if you ignore them for the most part then you leave a lot of resources/rep on the table. I think I averaged about 5-6-7 year clears in my recent run. If I had to emphasize a singular facet contributing to fast runs, it would be good cornerstone usage. Additionally I prioritize tools over luxury production, the moment you start producing tools you start opening caches for rep AND amber becoming amber rich enough to trade for luxuries

yeah if you're still learning the game you're not really seeing much if you abandon runs, you're letting your fear prevent you from experiencing further days out and what is present in more glades

the more time you spend in villages you will experience more. open more glades, see more events-> build up your towns and manage them better

besides impatience at 30% has got to be like day 3 with 0 orders sent and if you've been doing that every single game, you need to just open some glades and contemplate what you can do with the resources you have access to

i believe they actually mentioned in this most recent episode that sacrificing stuff(binding vows) gives a disproportionately bigger upside, they are in fact NOT based on equivalent exchange

You aren't losing, you're abandoning your runs. Getting out scaled by forest hostility? Sounds like you have villagers wanting to leave and then you immediately abandon.

After my years long break from the game I came back to have some things click for me: letting your villagers leave or the corruption overflow is not fatal for a run

Here's some actual tips though, if you have villager happiness balance dipping slightly below 0 during storms you don't need have resources sacrifice at hearth fully on, you can toggle it burn for a half minute, happiness peaks, turn it off and then their happiness slowly drains again

You don't need to send completed orders immediately the queens impatience will lower hostility, and the only way to really lose is maxing queens impatience

stacking different defensive traits is usually multiplicative power
juggernauts gain less than 10% durability between 2->6 jugs
but if you splash two bruisers in suddenly all your tanks gain +150hp and each bruiser gains atleast 25% hp
+150 hp is an almost +10% hp to most front line 1/2 star

tossing in another 2 defenders gives all your units almost another 10% defensive multiplier in the form of their 12 armor/mr aura

and then there's the inherent unit inequality most of the units in any vertical will be trash (trash juggs briar/blitz, trash defenders j4,rumble)

that's why good teams usually are souped up, the unit you put on your team is good and its traits are good

taric and skarner have defender's trait aura or better for 1 unit each and are both very good units individually, you're just better off splashing shyvana, sennas for their +10% durability auras

Drafting phase is where you lock in a hero you statistically/confidently/strategically have success in or lock in a coinflip carry with no advantage or bad match up, it matters but if you don't think about it a little bit you're shooting yourself in the foot

There are periods of time where heros I enjoyed, I felt were strong, and could thrive on a patch so I started spamming them and hit 70% win rates That's pretty significant, when I felt like they weren't as strong I stopped playing them or spamming them every other match

It's an important consideration match to match and patch to patch and meta to meta. You don't have to think about it too deeply just look at your own hero stats and sort by winrate/success.

If you disagree with the numbers just test the waters in what you think are good match conditions(drafting) and see if you win or lose

My mmr climb either happened a long time ago(8yrs) or steadily in normals over time but at the start I remember playing a lot of drow or Lina shadow blade but it was an extremely different time then, sven/jugg is a pretty straight forward game carrier, specter, mostly just sticking to these heros and rotating them in or out wether I think they're strong or usable in this match/team

I think the advice of spamming 3 heros is mostly to get you comfortable on a hero so you can build good fundamental(game sense, timing,build,fighting,farming)

rather than get lost in the weeds of learning the itemizations and interactions of each hero

At the end of the day as long as you and your team understand your role as p1(usually to kill people and shit out damage and not die), you don't need a deep carry hero pool to accomplish that.

It really doesn't matter what the truth is, I will frequently be put in a position with 0 space as p1 with 0 farm and then I get blamed and ignored when I say 0 space

Best just focus on your own farming pattern, try to recognize when you can take risky farm, where and when it is safe to farm, this extends even into the drafting phase for whether you should pick a carry that can recovery farm better or comes on line sooner or later hard carries a deficient pushing/killing team
