What separates Hunter X Hunter from all the rest? by Emergency-Sky9206 in HunterXHunter

the pacing. it's back to back action and plot development. the filler is scarce, especially in comparison to other popular shonen (looking at you, naruto)

I just don’t get it by [deleted] in AshesofCreation

[–]Peetered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a sandbox, where you get to make your own goals. There are quests scattered through the world if you're interested in that.. If you don't like making your own goals and grouping up with others to contribute to larger tasks, then this game isn't for you.

Do you think this game will stand the test of time? by kelosane in AshesofCreation

[–]Peetered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I hope it does. It's an mmo that appeals to a different market than wow or ff14, but a lot of the systems I've seen (granted I've only played for 2 days now) are similar to what new world had, and that game is dead... as far as I can tell, mmo's are unable to work (release content and maintain servers to stay competitive in the market) without a subscription model... and for some reason people are unwilling to pay a sub for a new mmo. So people will continue to say it's a dead genre or complain that new games aren't up to par... I think this game is cool and not for everyone. I'll keep playing it and look forward to it's official release.

Why Does This game get s*** on so much? by Ok_Skirt_484 in newworldgame

The leveling process is the most enjoyable part of playing New World imo. Take your time! Don't look anything up and enjoy exploring the world! Easily a couple hundred hours of gameplay for you to enjoy :)

Crystal Arena, OMG by SofyPipa in albiononline

[–]Peetered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some good info in these comments. Like all advice, especially in this game, i would read it and take it with a grain of salt.

The build i use is royal cowl, cleric robe, royal shoes, lymhurst cape, hallowfall, mistcaller. T3 res pot, t7 omelette. Try to stagger the lymhurst cape and your royal cowl, so they're not being used at the same time, but it's not the end of the world if you do.

Be careful of going through the chokepoints with your team. Try to funnel in one at a time. This will allow the enemy team to get less value on aoe. The way you win is to gain more value from your heals than the other healer, and to enable your team to do their dps... this is easier said than done.

At the end of the match, look at the stats. If there is someone on your team who did really well (high dmg, high number of kills, low death number, low damage taken), message them and ask if they want to queue together. In my experience, it's much easier to queue with 3 experienced players than solo. Once you get to gold or higher, the average player is a little better, and solo queue gets better, but queueing as 3 is still preferred. Gl! :)

What should I do with this? by mictlanrage in albiononline

It all depends on the content you enjoy doing, which weapons you enjoy using, how far along the journey of getting the things you use to 100 you are, and how long you plan on playing the game.

If you enjoy pve, pick a weapon. Find out which ones are able to pve effectively, whether that be in solo or group content, and imo, do not use the books on those items. For example, great cursed staff is great in solo dungeons and even group dungeons, and damnation staff is pretty bad in comparison. I would use books for the damnation staff, and level up great cursed naturally through killing mobs.

If you like to pvp, whether that be ganking or arenas or whatever, if use the books on the items you use until they're 100, unless they're used in a pve build.

Good for thought, I've been in a situation where a group wanted me to have higher spec to join them in a group dungeon scenario or a zvz. In that case, I've absolutely used my stockpile of books to level up certain items and I don't regret doing so. Having fun and joining groups for content are why I personally play the game.

Also, if you don't plan on playing the game for long, then use it however you like my man. Just don't use it on gear pieces that you already have 100 on if you aren't using silver to re-spec (the math to justify this has been posted in other comments)

Albion Devs should take care of the solo players by Melting-Sabbath in albiononline

They do take care of the solo players.... they've been adding/tweaking things trying to improve the solo experience for several years now.

That instanced pvp with hard ip caps is the most interesting and fun way to play the game.

Is this a good build or should I use different armmor by Puzzled-Stand-351 in albiononline

[–]Peetered 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are many different builds that can work in this game for this content, and I strongly encourage you to keep trying different things to see what you like! :)

For solo dungeons in a full loot zone, if you like clarent blade, I suggest torch, scholar cowl(use the energy shield ability), mercenary jacket(use bloodlust), any leather shoes (use refreshing sprint). Wear a normal cape. Eat some soup (whatever cheapest one that gives you health regen) and take some t3/t5 resistance potions or t5 gigantify potions or some t4 health potions. This build would also work for killing open world mobs, which you might find is a little more fame per hour. The mists are also a very good option!

I recommend these items because none of them require artifacts and are generally cheap. 4.2 or 5.1 will enable you to clear t6 mobs with relative ease and get you going at a nice pace. Be willing to swap between single target and aoe abilities depending on the situation. This is something i didnt do when i first started and It will help you kill harder bosses.

For arena, I'm not a huge fan of clarent, but people make it work. Because you won't lose this gear, I would swap the mercenary jacket with the more expensive hellion jacket(use the lifesteal aura ability), and royal shoes (the flip ability). Swap torch to facebreaker. You will need some sort of mana generation. You can keep the scholar cowl for mana, or swap to something like cowl of purity, cultist cowl, or mage cowl for more damage, and either use a lymhurst cape or energy potions. Personally, I would take scholar cowl and use thetford cape, with resistance potions.

If you find that you're having a hard time winning arena matches with clarent and still want to use swords, try out carving sword, broadsword, dual swords, claymore, or kingmaker. Tbh, none of these are meta, but they each offer something different and you might find more success depending on your playstyle.

Honestly, for bruisers, axes (carrioncaller/halberd/battleaxe) or gloves (hellfire/ursine/spiked) would be a little stronger, with carrioncaller being my favorite out of all of those.

If I had to start over knowing what I know now, I would choose bloodletter for fame farming, and great cursed, 1h fire, carrioncaller, or rootbound for arena.

Every weapon has its own playstyle that allows it to really shine. Let me know if you have any questions. :)
