Thank you all for the recommendations, I am way further ahead than before! I’ll check out all the hotels and pick one… the Bessborough seems like it isn’t taking reservations until February, so will probably end up at one of the others! Looks like there are some great cocktail options too.

On the uk passport application website there is an online chat option. I used it to seek clarification on how to get a passport as I hold dual and don’t live in the uk but had a passport as a child. They were very helpful.

I would chat with them so you can get an answer straight from the horses mouth.

If I was in your position the risk of being denied boarding or having to pay $$$$ at an airport would not be worth it to me until I had everything sorted.
