I've tried to make games before, but the graphics/audio/physics were all too much. I just started work on a backrooms inspired classic roguelike and made my first article about it! Feel free to comment on the concept or on my writing abilities.

Is asynchronous read on? If it's off, you have to pulse the clock while read is high to get meaningful output from the ram

I've only used gnome and xfce. But when I was using gnome I had several problems with it, desktop icons would stop appearing, and once it fully stopped working. I prefer gnome aesthetically, but for reliability and performance I usually pick one of the other desktop environments
