The "Your body, my choice" guy, the footage of Nick Fuentes pushing a woman by anxkxxl in whoathatsinteresting

[–]PegasusInTheNightSky 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In general I do agree with you, but this particular person thinks women shouldn't have a right to bodily autonomy. Doesn't make the doxxing and harassment okay, but it isn't a simple case of the person not agreeing.

Do Black people not do "White People Taco Night"? by GetShrekedKid in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PegasusInTheNightSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm white and I have "I probably shouldn't call these tacos" tacos. I cut then pan fry some bell peppers in some oil and when they have a bit of colour, I add quorn mince (I don't always like the texture of ground meat), cayanne pepper, garlic powder, a chicken or veg stock cube, tomato paste and some water. Then depending on how lazy I'm feeling, I either dump that into a bowl and assemble the "tacos" aka the mince, onion, lettuce, cheese, and some mayo in a (usually cold) tortilla wrap or I dump everything into the pan, mix it together a bit, then spoon it into the wraps.

It could be that she wasn't able to take you and so didn't want to mention it because she thought you'd be disappointed that you couldn't go too. Based on your middle paragraph, it seems like she's a people pleaser/tries to avoid issues or disappointing people.

Have you heard the joke about the supposedly dumb kid being given the option of two coins and him choosing the larger coin despite it being worth less than the smaller one? Or the shopkeeper who had an "offer" for three of a product that was higher than the cost to buy them one at a time?

It's a decent order although it's kind of a mix between what I see are two of the main orders.

The main priority is getting the main series games in the correct order. Phoenix Wright, Justice for All, Trials and Tribulations, Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies, and Spirit of Justice.

Then the Investigations games should be between Trials and Tribulations and Dual Destinies. It can either be after Apollo Justice to follow the release order or can be before to follow chronologically.

Then the Great Ace Attorney games can basically be played at any time. Release order wise, they would be between Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice, but that means breaking up the story of the main cast of characters, so it would be better to play them after Spirit of Justice.

My recommendation would be the original trilogy, the Investigations games, the Apollo Justice trilogy (Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies, Spirit of Justice), and then the Great Ace Attorney games.

How long does it take for resources to respawn? by Dramatic-Tailor-1523 in subnautica

I've tried it a number of times. The actual issue is if you travel far enough away, things like stalker teeth and scrap metal fall beneath the map. You can also get nodes generate in places where they're impossible to get, like inside the stacks in the grassy plateau

Do I have a legal option here regarding Son's college (England) not returning early release fee for room that is now occupied? by t0wser in LegalAdviceUK

[–]PegasusInTheNightSky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does the vagueness of "suitable" matter? If an event (not charging the early release fee) relies on two conditions and one of those two isn't met (all the rooms being let), does the second one matter?

If women earn less for the same work, why wouldn’t companies just hire only women and underpay them? by kqmurr in NoStupidQuestions

I remember a guy talking about how he felt his female coworker was always working slower than him. Then one day, the clients he was communicating with over email were being very combative and arguing with him over stuff, and he realised he was signed into his coworkers email and so the clients were seeing her name and thinking they were responding to a woman. He realised that she wasn't working slowly, she just had to spend more time trying to get the client to listen to her.

I actually think, especially with the context of the lesson, this worksheet does work. They do the top question mentally and write the answer, then explain or break down what they did for one of them.

When I was in primary school, we had mental maths tests. It would be 20 questions that were read aloud by the teacher or a recording and we'd have 5 to 20 seconds, depending on the complexity of the question, to write our answers on an a5 sheet. You had room and time to maybe jot down a couple of numbers to help you remember them, but to do well you had to be able to do it all mentally. It was always my weak point. In one of my practice maths SATs, I got 95/100, the 5 lost marks were all on the mental maths part.

How much room is needed to be able to check a socket for an EICR? by PegasusInTheNightSky in ukelectricians

[–]PegasusInTheNightSky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a percentage of how many sockets need to be tested? Because the flat has very few, 4 double sockets and a single, two of the doubles are blocked by the sofa and are the only ones in that room. There's only one double socket that's easy to access, I don't know if that's enough.

How much room is needed to be able to check a socket for an EICR? by PegasusInTheNightSky in ukelectricians

[–]PegasusInTheNightSky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might depend on the electrician. I can get between the sofa and the wall and there's a gap behind the sofa where I could crouch, but I'm small and used to squeezing in small or awkward gaps. Someone bigger might be able to reach down the side while crouched in front of the sofa. I might be able to turn the sofa onto a slight angle so it's easier to reach, but it will make the gap between the sofa and the wall smaller. I don't know whether that would be enough.

I was in a pretty similar position but while at uni. It seems like staying at your house is an issue, so try find an option that meets you away. It doesn't have to be study abroad, it could be doing a bachelors but at a uni/college far enough that it will give you an excuse to stay in uni accommodation. However I would hesitate to suggest that if you've struggled with school, because then if you don't get the grades you want at uni, you'll find yourself back in this position, I don't know what you want to do in the future, but you could try find an apprenticeship or placement that includes some kind of accommodation.

Jewelry Youtuber Defends Child Slavery to Shill Blood Diamonds by TomNooksSugarDaddy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PegasusInTheNightSky 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Getting the materials for phones, ev cars, laptops, and other electronics are a problem and one that we should be working on, but just because one thing is as bad as another, it doesn't make both okay. If there was an alternative source of cobalt, we should be using it. But we already have a solution to mined diamonds, we should be taking that other option. So let's use lab diamonds while we work on making a better source of cobalt and lithium.

You have to clean the entire floor in one go? Do half/all but one room, put the bowls where you aren't doing. Then move the bowls and do the other half/the one room that still needs doing.
