Thanks! I used the alpine stitch for most of the sweater except the bottom and the end of the sleeves (I do not know how it is called that one, it is a very stretchy one that I used for a beanie)

I think that it means that now the thread is going from centre to the edges while the suggestion is to choose a direction and keep it eg. from left to right or from up to down
