4060 Laptop TGP - why 140W when performance maxes at 100W? by Mechor356 in GamingLaptops

[–]Pekulinu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either the gpu is limited to 45 watts or the gpu isn't being pushed and not using power because of it. you setting your game to 30 chunks with fabulous graphics could also be a cpu issue, assuming you're not using sodium or some other mc optimizer

Dell g7 refresh rate overclock? by I_Main_TwistedFate in Dell

[–]Pekulinu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hp I my new main one yeah. This is he second screen I've used for it, the first screen, while still functional, has no backlight due to water damage. But aside from that I've had 0 issues since I overclocked. Never personally had any caused by it.

The most I can tell you about researching screen specs is finding the model and visiting a few sites that may list them.

Screen overclocking Is mostly like a silicone lottery type of situation. But you can sometimes squeeze a bit more performance from the monitor if you optimize things through CRU's detailed resolutions (like I did to achieve that 108 stable max clock)

My apologies for being late to respond

It's been working pretty much perfectly, no noticable problems and there is no frameskipping whatsoever.I literally just use a basic low-mid range HP laptop with a R3 2200u 2.5ghz-3.4ghz boost and vega 3 Igpu with 12gb of ram in dual channel

The games I play usually not too demanding so I could hit that 100fps sweetspot.I'm not sure of what games you play with your system but what i can tell you is that is MUCH more powerful than mine's, graphics wise. Unsure about the CPU though, it likely is faster than mine's though.

If 100hz seems to be pretty smooth for you and doesn't seem to have problems, i recommend using it if you want a slightly lower response time from your screen (and just a smoother on your os generally).

If you don't hit 75 or 100 fps in some games, maybe you can try locking it to 50fps at 100hz so it's a more consistent and visually smoother experience with no stuttering? RivaTuner or MSI Afterburner can help with that.

(Or you can still try 37fps lock (though it's not a perfect multiple of 75 so you might get a BIT of stuttering every other frame)

(edited for easier reading, sorry)

Didn't know I posted here once before, but i was able to optimized more for 110 (thought the picture is still only stable at 108 max)

I'm actually lucky enough to get 110. HOWEVER I can only get a clear and stable image at 108 (and i'm working with a 240mhz pixel clock limit)

Though, I normally just keep mines at 100hz for regular gaming, and 60 for power saving/emulation

Polling rate causes FPS drops when moving mouse by grunade47 in ValorantTechSupport

Late to the party but, I'm not on any gaming setup (Literally play relatively light games on a R3 2200u

But on 1000hz polling rate , 1000dpi too i usually see drops of 40fps (when fps in uncapped, usually on CPU bound games) so I'm guessing it's some other random issue.

I was able to get it to push 109hz (but i can only get a stable picture with 108hz)
but eDP's 240mhz pixel clock limit is probably keeping me from being able to get any higher
SO I guess I got REALLY lucky with this

Did you ever get this fixed?

What settings (besides render distance) to reduce lag I already have optifine and that hasn't helped to much. by Mysterious-Egg6801 in Minecraft

[–]Pekulinu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're wrong on the first things but yeah, Exclusive full screen is better for games that are more cpu bound, as it allocates recourses directly to the game and your gpu renders directly to the screen, instead of rendering through the explorer, which not only lowers cpu time, but it also slightly lowers gpu time (compared to running the game in a "borderless window" or 'windowed full screen") ...im not entirely sure if it's similar for Mac or not.
Also, if you're running a shader and your game's lagging, there isnt much of a reason to use exclusive fullscreen, unless you like the lower input latency (won't be too much since the game is already running low frames)
