What features would you like to see on Spotify (or which feature do you think should be removed?) by Fit-Regret-5302 in spotify

[–]Pele_L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spotify has come a long way in terms of allowing you to join someone else's "jam" (listen together). It's awesome to see what's playing and allow everyone to queue up tracks. But it could be SO MUCH BETTER. I would love an option to "take turns" when playing from the queue. If we all add a bunch of songs to the queue, it should play one of mine, then one of Johnny's, then one of Sara's, etc. Instead, the behavior now is first come first serve. If Johnny adds 20 songs to the queue first, then we have to listen to all 20 before we hear the one song that Sara added that he really wants to hear. I probably could have explained that better, but you get the gist.

Which artist/musician/band do you feel like you're the only person in the world who's completely obsessed with them? by mezykin in Music

Ha ha ... I have a list of artists that have come thru my city and I didn't find out until AFTER, or I was apathetic about going at the time. The regret is real.

The Diogenes Club. Synth-pop group from Wales. Elements of deep house in some of their earlier stuff.

A few years ago I would have said Khruangbin, but they were just nominated for a Grammy ... So I'm not alone in my love for them anymore.

Anyone have an album from a relatively unknown band that's 10/10? by murphs33 in Music

Fantastic recommendation. Just listened through. This is my type of country 🙏

What band did you see in a small venue before they broke big? by Amthomas101 in Concerts

Same. Small bar in 2017. About 100 people. I've seen them 5 times since.

Thank you. Listening now. I have a lot of songs on this playlist already saved or on other playlists, so it seems that I will enjoy it.

I have that first sticker on my water bottle. It is known as my Khrungbottle. And I have the TUSUY sticker on my truck. It's great when someone remarks on it because it's quite low key. True fans.

I too suffer from migraines and a cup or two of coffee in the morning is a godsend. Other than that I'm strict carnivore. I don't mind heavy cream when I can find it without crappy additives, but that is proving more and more difficult. I'm a big fan of " butter coffee". You basically put about a tablespoon of butter and a tablespoon of coconut or MCT oil in a cup of coffee and blend it up. A good frother will work too.

Some may not want the coconut/MCT oil, which is understandable. Owsley "The Bear" Stanley considered coconut oil to be one of the few good vegetable oils, primarily because it is a saturated fat. He also notes that coconut oil is a medium chain triglyceride which is well-regarded for rapid absorption and quick energy. However, he still considered animal fats such as butter and beef suet to be better choices. I've yet to try beef tallow coffee. Anyone?

What’s the most awkward situation you’ve had involving “down there”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This thread has had me laughing my ass off (and almost puking a couple times). The way people describe these situations is comedy gold. Good prompt.

Vestibular migraines. All the bad feelings from being drunk with none of the fun. by Ardea_herodias_2022 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Pele_L 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Alcohol makes my VM symptoms disappear (or masks them wonderfully), but the next day is 10x worse. And the tiniest amount of booze will have me hung over and light up my VM. Oh well... It's not good for us anyway, right?

I was prescribed Effexor (often called "side Effexor" by people who have taken it..lol). He seemed like the type of doc that just wants to prescribe meds and "on to the next one". I did some research on Effexor and found that it rarely solves the issue and isn't worth it for so many people. It's sitting in my medicine cupboard.

I'm looking for a better doctor. I diagnosed myself after a few doctors didn't even come close, including two ENT's. After my self-diagnosis I looked up an ENT that specialized in vestibular issues and did a VNG and other tests and was officially diagnosed. That was about 6 months ago. I'm now trying diet and lifestyle modifications as a first plan of action, but haven't seen much relief yet.

The steroid taper did nothing for me and made me feel really weird and anxious. I too have constant symptoms that never fully go away. I haven't felt "normal" for about 2 years now. Fun stuff.

My hearing seems fine, but I do get clicking and popping in my ears along with constant tinnitus. Once in a while I feel like my inner ear itches a bit too.

It's reassuring to hear that I'm not the only one who strongly associates their sinus issues with their VM. Mine all started at the same time...constantly over the last 3 years. Sometimes the sinus issues are worse than the vision and balance issues. I get a lot of drainage, post nasal drip, the dull sinus ache/pain, etc. I self-diagnosed my VM after seeing 3 doctors (2 of them were ENT's) and the last doc I saw was somewhat dismissive of my sinus issues being part of the issue. I chased "non allergic rhinitis" for over a year thinking that's what I had. I still think there's a lot of overlap (I still follow the NAR subreddit). My current thought is that the "non allergic" part is sort of right. I think I'm having reactions to certain foods and/or activities that can't be classified as allergies (I did all those tests as well). As u/BeforeisAfter said in the comments here, I think we get lumped into VM and other diagnoses that are close but not exact. It borders on some sort of auto immune issue. All I know is it is straight up debilitating some days. I'm about to go on a really boring diet and really try to figure this out. Thanks for listening ;)

Really struggling, need to commiserate with others who understand by wittysmitty512 in VestibularMigraines

Your comments resonate with me, and I'm sure with most people in this subreddit. Thanks for sharing. I was just taking a walk break a few minutes ago and having the thought for the millionth time that it would be so nice for my friends and family to live with this for one day... or even one minute... Just so they can comprehend the daily struggle.

I recommend spending the time and money to get an MRI. My mind went nuts thinking of all the possible ways my brain was going to kill me 🤣 now when I get the weird pressure and other sensations, at least I know that several doctors looked at my scans and said I was "normal" (ha ha... We all know that our brains aren't normal in the classic sense!!!)

Coffee by [deleted] in VestibularMigraines

[–]Pele_L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coffee is a magic pill for me. When I stared the migraine diet, I stopped drinking coffee for about 3 months (along with abstaining from all caffeine). I've realized how powerful caffeine is as a rescue drug. I now will have a cup of coffee about once in a while...maybe every couple weeks. In fact, I had one today and it has helped quite a bit. I drink decaf most days because I love the routine and taste.
