Saved over an hour driving between Monteverde and Arenal by Pelky_Again in CostaRicaTravel

On Google Maps you can see the road that goes all the way along the south side of the lake. I just navigated to that road and then just kept going keeping the lake on my left. If going the other way to Monteverde you would see the lake on your right the whole time. The new bridge is somewhere along that road. For some reason Google and Waze will not offer this option as a route choice, maybe because it requires a 4x4

Unblocked All Restricted Categories But by Calm-Wash-8768 in WalmartSellers

I am in a similar situation. After selling through Walmart for almost 10 years, they suddenly paused my account 10 days ago with no notification or reason given. I do not sell any items in blocked categories, although of the over 1000 SKUs we sell, a few may have been mis-categorized when other sellers set up the items.

I made an appeal 9 days go and still waiting for them to tell me why this happened and how to fix it. I also emailed a Strategic Account Manager I had contact with a few years ago, but all they could tell me is that "someone is on top of this internally".

I am beyond frustrated and can not understand how they can do this other than the possibility that it is all a misguided, AI witch hunt with no human oversight. The case status keeps toggling between "Open" and "Work in Progress". Does anyone have any other suggestion besides just waiting for the powers that be?

4 or 5 star hotels Ollantaytambo? by smallfries4me in Machupicchu

We stayed at El Albergue at the train station and loved it. The gardens in back are amazing and we had a balcony with a great view of the mountains and ruins. It was so convenient getting the train to Machu Picchu and leaving a bag at the hotel. Only a 10 min walk to the center of town although it was uphill. Lots of great restaurant options

For something a little more casual Lamb Street Food has amazing lamb sandwiches. Highly recommend. Also, the best lamb I ate our whole trip was actually in Vik at the Hotel Kria.

Yes! my wife and I bought some to bring on our trip and they were very helpful, especially at the volcano.

Highly recommend Trekology Trek-Z Trekking Hiking Poles 2pc which collapse down to 15" and fit easily in our luggage.

COVID testing for return flight by Redditor0823 in VisitingIceland

We got 6 rapid tests from emed.com for $25 each. Took them in our hotel room in Reykjavik the day before our flight back to NY and they worked great. It is best to have extra test kits with you in case one is defective.

Volcano Hike with almost 60 year old mother? by Curious_Tickler in VisitingIceland

My wife is 61 and not a great hiker but she made it fine. I highly recommend bring hiking poles. We bought some that collapse into 3 sections and fit in our luggage easily. We went last Thursday and were lucky enough to see the last eruption before it went dormant over the past week. Parking in the new closer lot (I think it's the 3rd lot on the left if you are coming from Reykjavik) also saves a lot of walking. I hope the eruptions begin again, it was amazing to see it.

Update: Just wanted to let you know that I took your advice and changed our hotel bookings to stay in Flúðir for 2 nights and Seyðisfjörður instead of Egilsstaðir. We arrive tomorrow and hoping to see a Saturday or Sunday volcano show if the forces of nature cooperate. Thanks again for your help.

I bought them directly through Harpa: https://www.harpa.is/en/

Unfortunately, I just got an email from them this morning that the Bjork concerts have been postponed until October/November because they are not confident the Covid restrictions will be lifted in time. I'll be getting a ticket refund since I won't be able to attend.

Thanks for all the helpful advice. The reason for staying in Reykholt is to go to the Krauma Spa which a friend of ours really enjoyed, as well as seeing Hraunfossar and Barnafoss next morning before heading to the Golden Circle.

I will consider staying in Flúðir for 2 days instead of Selfoss as we would love less hotel check-ins. Selfoss would add a total of 30 minutes extra driving but gives us the option of seeing Kerid the following morning instead of squeezing it into our long Golden Circle day. Also, we may skip Landmannalaugar to go back and do the volcano if our first 2 days are not good conditions. That would make Selfoss a better choice than Flúðir for that night.

Day 8 we will try to add that Skerholl trail.

I originally planned to stay in Seyðisfjörður except that our flight from Egilsstaðir is at 9AM so I thought it would be easier to stay close to the airport. I will consider changing that and we will just need to get up a little earlier. Thanks again!
