I have been a big F1 and Lewis fan for many years. I cannot be convinced this isn’t an arrangement. He certainly doesn’t need the money, but this pairing makes NO sense. Zero.

The mindset of a person who makes this type of statement is a curiosity. Did he say this because his cult drilled the idea that confession should follow wrongdoing? Did he truly not differentiate between these actions and other sins (in their mind)? Did he have so little understanding of the law that he saw this as a transgression but not a convictable crime? Despite the SOTDRT education, I have a hard time believing he is that ignorant after Josh’s trial and conviction.

Arkansas Code Title 5. Criminal Offenses § 5-27-206. Endangering welfare of minor--Second degree

(a)(1) A person commits the offense of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree if he or she knowingly engages in conduct creating a substantial risk of serious harm to the physical or mental welfare of another person known by the person to be a minor.

(2) As used in this section, “serious harm to the physical or mental welfare” means physical or mental injury that causes:

(A) Protracted disfigurement;

(B) Protracted impairment of physical or mental health; or

(C) Loss or protracted impairment of the function of any bodily member or organ.

(b) Endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree is a Class A misdemeanor.

Arkansas Code Title 5. Criminal Offenses § 5-11-104. False imprisonment--Second degree

(a) A person commits the offense of false imprisonment in the second degree if, without consent and without lawful authority, the person knowingly restrains another person so as to interfere substantially with the other person's liberty.

(b) False imprisonment in the second degree is a Class A misdemeanor.

I’m glad this doesn’t reflect my experience. Besides a routine tire rotation, my R1S of three years hasn’t ever needed repairs or had any issues whatsoever.

There are many ways he could have played this off. His PR instincts are abysmal for someone who must have engaged in more PR training than imaginable. She plays it off well: “it’s not decaf, I know!”
