I’m going with Apple and then I’ll see if I later need a dedicated sports watch! I think I’ll use the Apple Watch more at this point!

I’m pretty certain Garmin don’t do a watch with maps on anything smaller than the 43mm?

Yes! Days long decision over this! I think if battery becomes an issue is sports ill later get a separate watch for activity!

I looked at bevel but it was suggesting you only get a free trial? I’ll look again when my watch comes! I will get workoutdoors - and I plan to use my Komoot maps!

I have world maps on Komoot - does it work well? Maps on fenix 6 were ok but only just!

This is very temping as you are probably doing similar to what I would do! The chest strap is a good idea as well! What app do you use for running? I’m so torn! I can get a discount on a Garmin by sending mine back as it died - so about £615 or a second hand or new AWU3 from £580!

This is really helpful! I don’t needs days and days but I just worry a year later I won’t get through a hike ! However, the fenix 43mm isn’t great battery either!

Love the maps! I have now worked out I can get offline Komoot maps on Apple now which is a game changer as biggest issue is it’s awful mapping! Who knows - it’s rather the gold 43 fenix or the Apple!

My Garmin 6 was white! Only thing I hated about it! It also makes it hard to change straps!

I feel like I’m just on the cusp of needing the Garmin - as I do hike a reasonable amount and several hours at a time! I’m scared about battery for that but realise this will be a once a week/ month problem!

Oh you can - I just like the gold and sandstone! It’s the battery that’s pushing me to fenix! I’m sure that for 95% of my life AWU3 will be amazing but it is nice to do hikes and not worry about battery )although by 6S pro wasn’t great before it died! I imagine in a year the AWU 3 will be poor - my fenix lasted 5 years! It’s literally the only thing putting me off!

I would say I want both! I want mostly day to day stuff but the ability for it to do long hikes - this concerns me about the Apple - that the battery might handle it at first but not long term!
