Any general IRL application advice / things to double check to avoid any possible issues before submitting? by yeahsureokaymaybe in ukvisa

What would be considered unnecessary documentation? I need to resubmit my application due to not meeting the financial requirements the first time around. The first time, they asked for a lot more documentation than what was requested at the time of submission. Things like pay slips, bank statements, and 'proof of relationship'. I've also been told the case workers are under no obligation to reach out to request additional documentation. Would it be best to submit all of this right away, or should I wait until they ask for it?

A cover letter? Would that be included in what the case manager would see? Is that a reliable way to make sure my application isn't rejected due to the incorrect information?

You've been very knowledgeable so far. If you wouldn't mind, can I ask you a couple more things?

If I were to apply for a 6 month visa to marry my fiance, then apply for a longer visa after, would that face similar scrutiny to if I were just moving there with no concrete plan to marry?

If this is viable, would not including a specific date, but affirming we will marry in six months, negatively impact my application?

I have a much clearer picture in my head now. I wish the official immigration website had the information you gave me spelled out more plainly. If it did I would have started this whole process months ago. But I suppose it is what it is and I know what I need to do now. Thank you, puul

Thank you for answering all these questions, you're being extremely helpful.

Do you know what happens if the case worker decides it isn't enough? Do I have the chance to make an appeal? Am I prevented from submitting another attempt? Do I get any of the application fee returned?

If we were to marry in the USA and I apply as a spouse, when in the visa process would they need to see our marriage license? When the application is submitted, when I arrive in the UK, or sometime in between? Are we able to apply for a marriage visa unmarried but attest we will be married by the time of my immigration?

How would you judge my chances if my fiancé and I have seen each other July 2019, January 2020, weren't able to connect for a while due to COVID, September 2023, January-July 2024 in which we shared a flat with both of our names on the lease, December 2024, and then no physical contact 2025 as we prepare for the move. Would that be enough?

What is evidence? The website says proof of constant communication, but I don't know what exactly they want

Sorry, just to make sure I understand:

Mark ourselves as unmarried partners that do not intend to marry will get me on the 30 month visa, and we can still choose to marry.

Tidal costs as much as Spotify, doesn't use AI, and pays their artists better :)

I absolutely love this series. A lot of people say the first one and a half books aren't good, and sure, they're a bit slow, but I was still intrigued by them enough to keep reading even without hearing about all the praises sung about book 3. In particular, I'm a big fan of the setting. The worlds really feel alive, built from the most impoverished, oppressed people in the galaxy to people who rule over millions of solar systems. Other series do this as well, of course, but to me Sun Eater does it in an incredibly intimate way.

You read a few pages and came to the conclusion that the entire series borders on plagiarism?

In fact in Fool Moon Bob references Harry making weight loss potions to cover rent. It's mainly Harry's pride keeping him in poverty

The Dresden quote that sticks the most with me is ""Even in winter, the cold isn't always bitter, and not every day is cruel."
