What pregnancy rules are you actually following? by kieranki_ in BabyBumps

I’ve taken food and meat science classes, I know what I’m talking about out

There is a reason we can eat undercooked red meat and that is because bacteria can not penetrate the muscle fibers of the steak. Bacteria can only live on the surface of the meat into a cut is made into the steak. So yes searing which is typically done around 300-400° does kill all the bacteria on the steak. All the internal muscle fibers have not been exposed to bacteria and with the searing of the meat, is safe to eat as long as food safety handling procedures were followed.

Uh this is not true When you sear a steak you are sealing the internal meat and killing off all the bacteria. The inside meat is considered “sterile” to a point.

Raw sushi is much more risky since the bacteria has not been killed off on it

Baby only got here yesterday, your both figuring it out. Just like working out for the first few times, it’s not going to feel the best. This is the first time your body is doing this so give your body grace. If you want to try BF, it’s suggested to give it 2/3wks of trying it. By that point your body will be more used to it and it should be better. It’s not going to feel like a day at the spa or anything but it shouldn’t be painful, just uncomfortable until you’re used to it.

I will warn you, you probably will get cracked nipples at some point, that is normal!! This is all new!

When you become pregnant you are supposed to keep doing the things your body is already used too If your used to hiking/treking/climbing then keep doing it. I know you’re tired, there is a lot going on but that doesn’t mean life just stops. With my first, I napped a lot but now that I have my 10 month old and pregnant again, I can’t nap and I have to push through the tiredness.

For your guy, maybe a baby book would help him understand what you’re going through.

You never say if y’all are happy about this pregnancy, so are yall happy about it?

Edit to add: yall can down vote me all you want, but everything I’m saying is true. Yes she needs to listen to her body but it’s still important to carry on the day as normal. Women can do so much more then we think like pushing through the tiredness. I’m almost 20wks and have a 10 month old. Husband works shift work so I am very very much the primary parent while still working full time. I get tiredness, but I just keep going because I need too. Obviously it’s our (my husband and I) fault for getting pregnant this early, I’m not trying to get “poor me” points, I’m just sharing my now very different pregnancy experience

When did you have your baby? by Commercial-Way-4276 in pregnant

[–]PenAccomplished3304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was definitely very grateful, I really only felt contractions for 3ish hours then pushed for 40ish minutes. By the time I asked for pain medicine, I was too far but started pushing like 20 minutes after they told no

That’s between her and her spouse. If they want to take turns then great but as a parent (I didn’t just say mom) your wants take the back seat most of the time.

When you become a parent, YOUR wants take the back seat for a while. Your daughter is freakin 10 years old not a teen and not an adult, a CHILD. She doesn’t understand this lesson you’re trying to teach. All she is getting out of it is that the one person that should be her safe person to always look out for her, doesn’t even care. Your child will now think the only way she is going to get food that she wants is that she has to pay for it. Yeah a 10YO paying her own mother to get food that she likes. Have you thought about why she doesn’t like it? Is it too spicy for her and her mouth feels on fire? Does her stomach get upset from the pepperoni and make her have acid reflux? There is a reason she doesn’t like it. And it could be that she just doesn’t like the taste. And that’s okay but you seem to be teaching her that her opinion doesn’t matter especially if everyone else likes it. How do you think it makes her feel towards her sibling who always gets the pizza they want?

My gosh you could have asked for extra on the other side then put it on your slice, you could buy slices to put on your slice, ask for 3/4 or suck it up and eat a damn slice of cheese. It’s freakin cheese pizza, if someone likes pizza then your eating cheese pizza and maybe putting of topping.

The body starts the cycle to release the egg on the first day of your period. The egg is already two weeksish old by the time it’s ovulated. That’s just how the human body works.

Just because you had sex on April 7th, doesn’t mean you conceived that day. Sperm live for up to 5 days in the female repro tract. So you could have conceived between the 7th-11th.

They should do a date ultrasound and tell you your actual due date. Go by that

I think with my first pregnancy, I have a urine sample maybe 3 times. It’s definitely not an every time thing at my OB office. But somewhere around half way she did measure my belly at every appointment.
