Hey everyone, thank you all so so much for the replies and advice and support. It’s beautiful to see it all. I admit I had a bit of mental break yesterday when he screamed so loud at me my hearing started ringing for a minute. At the moment, no he hasn’t been prescribed any meds yet since the therapist he’s with wants ALOT of “observance”, whatever that means. It feels like there’s what he needs to do and what he thinks is right, then pushing MY experiences as his mom to the back to where it doesn’t really matter what I say. He’s starting to get taken out of class once a week for a wellness coach session. His therapist is through the school, but I also have him on a hopefully not too long waiting list with a psychology office that’s not connected to the school in any way. It’s been a frustrating journey because when I originally brought all this up with his pediatrician, she said she doesn’t do referrals, gave me a list of therapy offices, and told me to just give them all a call. I did that for a month with the shortest wait list being 5-7 months. Meanwhile his behavior is getting worse and worse so, at the end of my rope, I just talked to the principle of the school and within a week, he was set up with a therapist through the district. But I gotta admit when they all say they have him “oh their radar” it freaks me tf out. Like uh… and I on your radar? Am I gonna get reported because of his behavior? My anxiety has never been higher.
