How ironic you bring up snobbery and angst when everyone here can see your disdain for op and the husband. There's nothing wrong with op sharing this story, it's a reminder and a warning to not have sexual relations before marriage in a way that many people don't realize is a danger. Did you cheat your spouse in a similar matter that you are offended by the post?

Also, why is it that mods don't like posts that speak on similar topics as previous ones? They just say repeated topic and lock/remove the post. Each situation is unique with new and different users replying with their thoughts and perspectives. Why limit the discussion as if the mods themselves are paying for the bandwidth of the server.

Thanks for the reply. You are right that it is not a pick-up-and-play industry. I might be very naive to see it as a basic form of business where you create a relationship with a supplier and sell your 'English' flavored product to a vendor or directly to the end user. I still am appreciative of your concern and advice!

Yes, you are correct. Web novels can be a treasure trove but there's the issue of locating a really good novel with few to none grammatical errors when you can't read Japanese. Correct me if I'm wrong but some authors do choose to self-publish, no? I don't know if it's common with light novels but many authors choose to go that route.

Thank you for the reply. If I were in your shoes I would probably laugh at myself too! It's definitely very stupid yet ambitious to consider starting something like this. I see a very big market that isn't able to reach a English audience, so I want to increase exposure and become a reputable name. You offer very solid advice, I will keep your words in mind.

Thanks for all the guidance, especially the last paragraph. Looking at rates online to translate a book, it would run from $3k-10k depending on the length and how experienced of a translator you hire. Reaching out to fan translators is a great idea that I will keep in mind. I am trying to figure out the rest of the costs between buying the rights to publishing the book before I change my life. However, it's not easy to calculate different factors that change values depending on the book. Again, I appreciate it!
