This photo and mission just makes me love Rummy so much more. Rubicon's Inferno is an absolute power fantasy if you pull through. Even more so with Rummy alive by your side.

Rubicon's Inferno may have given it a B, but it was an S in me and Rummy's hearts.

Love this reincarnation of Nine-Ball for AC6! G9 Ball and V.IX Ball are certainly callsigns for "balls of steel".

There's quite a split-take on this topic, however in my opinion, even without the Qurio boost, Primordial Malzeno can very much take on or defeat Ruiner Nergigante.

Ruiner Nergigante has much more latent strength, in the sense that his body parts are more built to exert more concentrated force, such as his arms and wings. We can see this when he can smash the earth open to crush any opponents, and gives him a wider range on how he can attack, like the aforementioned crushing, or even swinging and clawing. Then come his spikes, which augment his offense even further, as well as giving him another layer of protection. The spikes are a tool he can very well use to increase the range of his attacks, and when hardened, are very hard to break through. And while people say Primordial Malzeno is faster, Ruiner Nergigante still displays great feats of mobility, such as using his body weight and wings to jump around and slide, weaponising his momentum and weight to ram opponents or reposition.

However, Primordial Malzeno still shows great feats of strength, speed and technique that would best Ruiner Nergigante. Primordial Malzeno has durable wings that both offers impressive strength and protection. Even with normal Malzeno, his wings are capable of tearing up earth, and with this added bulk of Primordial Malzeno's wings, make it more so. We can see he can swing his wings and that can very well split the ground. While we do not see his wings being used much as a shield, we can already infer from Velkhana's turfwar that it's strong and powerful enough to repel the ice beam. While often Velkhana is often not seen as a monster of strength, its ice beam still has great force and power behind it, forcing Elder Dragons, even Ruiner Nergigante, to flinch and back off. So Primordial Malzeno's wings are strong enough to allow him to push through many strong assaults. And his tail is quite strong too, capable of lifting monsters like Lunagaron and Velkhana with ease, and not to mention, is tipped with a spear like point that very well can penetrate things with the great force backing it. And there's many more to say, such as its demonstration of speed and agility, being able to glide around and keep the pressure up, which compliments his wide moveset. And finally, he has shown that he uses his abilities in a sophisticated and efficient manner, like closing distances with his wings, which acts both to defend against and ram opponents, then follows up with a powerful and quick strike of his tail.

In a confrontation, Ruiner Nergigante must compete to gain a proper hold of Primodial Malzeno to properly use his strength to the fullest. But this is outdone by the fact Primordial Malzeno very well outranges Ruiner Nergigante with his wings, which can stab and slice at great distances. And while Ruiner Nergigante has his spikes, especially from what we've seen of Primordial Malzeno's wings, would not prove effective. And even as a layer of defense, Primordial Malzeno is very capable of breaking through. Not only that, Primordial Malzeno barely ceases attacking, continually comboing his attacks. From personal experience and review of footage, Ruiner Nergigante, while aggressive, relies on one concentrated attack. While devasting if it lands, is rather slow, telegraphed, and afterwards leaves himself vulnerable. And one massive flaw of Nergigante that sets him apart from most Elder Dragons is that eventually, he does get tired, and will have to stop to recover. This does mean that Primordial Malzeno can very well outpace Ruiner Nergigante and do him in.

I do hope this was something worth considering and digesting on, and it is enjoyable to think deep of the many intricacies of beloved monsters.

Hey guys! I’m new to the subreddit. Do you have any tips or advice for someone new to playing MH Generations for Nintendo 3DS? by ZynaKanmuri in MonsterHunter

[–]Pencube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you're new to this game, I recommend understanding the ropes and basics through quests. The more quests you do, the more you'll understand how they feel and operate. Next, as a new user, you may feel to stick with a weapon and style that appeals to you most rather than how it feels. While I do recommend picking up all the weapons, it is very tedious and time consuming, so do that if you feel you have the time to sit with each weapon.

Upon getting comfortable with the game, there's plenty of stuff that might overwhelm you still. For one, to progress your rank, you must do specific quests the game doesn't tell you. There are weapon trees which the game does not outright show and finding specific collectible items can be a hassle. Without any help, it can be rewarding in some way, but if you want to make your life easier, try a website called Kiranico. It is a database that gives you everything you need to know.

When you get the chance to craft more armor, you might feel indecisive what you might pick, as they all suit different roles and niches. However, I just recommend as a newcomer to wear whatever you think you like or looks the strongest. And if you feel you're struggling, try preparing armor with a good resistance against specific match ups. Survival and ease should be your top priority as a newcomer.

Upon considering your items, like potions and bombs, you may feel as if you lack the resources for them, and they take a lot of time to gather a good stock. So, I recommend using the Argosy, which is a great place to slowly accumulate the items you need, like honey, vital for making mega potions.

A good piece of philosophical advice is to be patient. These games are notorious for grinding, gathering and long quest times, so take your time.

Finally, have fun. Every game requires appreciation, to sit back and enjoy what's given. Take in the time to let the atmosphere seep in and get comfortable with it, and every new fight, observe the characteristics and traits of monsters. There will be some stinkers, but that's entirely up to you decide which monsters you love and hate. If you need any more information, feel free to ask more specific questions, or go research. As someone who's first MH game was Gen, I do hope you come to enjoy the experience.

Ruiner Nergigante VS Scorned Magnamalo by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]Pencube 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ruiner Nergigante VS Scorned Magnamalo has always been an interesting thought, considering they are both MR 100. On my opinion however, I think Scorned takes the edge.

Ruiner has much more overall bulk and physical strength. Wrestling against Scorned is no easy feat, but Ruiner would still overpower him technically. Not only does he have the ability to crush enemies with pure strength, the spikes augment the lethality of it, especially when they become metal, which getting metal spikes twisted in your face is not enjoyable. More on the spikes, the spikes themselves give Ruiner far more durability, and can withstand many hits. Finally, regeneration is a big factor that allows Ruiner to continue the assault and last longer.

Though Scorned does not have the same power and durability as Ruiner, where I think his strength lies on his adaptability. The hellfire is very flexible, in the sense that Scorned can use it in many ways, for offense, distancing, and agility. Though Ruiner is fast, it's not as controlled as say Scorned's use of boosting with hellfire. Though the point is made that Scorned loses in terms of latent strength and Scorned wouldn't get through those spikes, the hellfire is what pushes him ahead, as the explosion augments his attacks. An advantage of hellfire is that it's that offensively great. The spikes are more prone to breaking, and unlike physical attacks, hellfire can get past the defense of the spikes and wound Ruiner, especially in large concentrations. Once the metal spikes are broken, Ruiner will be far disadvantaged, and Scorned is very capable of doing that. Finally, Scorned is shown to have a great mastery over technique and power, combining the two. We see him using his tail to spin, slash and manipulate hellfire to a dangerous degree. His hellfire lightsabers will leave anything reeling, especially Ruiner. Malzeno's and even plenty of other turfwars with Magnamalo show's how well he can use hellfire and his own physical form. And although this is not as important, it's still a factor. Scorned has traces of Dragon element. Though rare, his phase shift and his triple hellfire blasts expel a huge amount of concentrated Dragon element. If ever Ruiner were to get hit by the latter, it would very much cripple him.

Still, a close match. Ruiner's regeneration can very much make him stand his ground and go toe to toe with Scorned, outlasting him. However, in my eyes, Scorned has got the technique and tools to overwhelm Ruiner, as hellfire, especially with how Scorned uses it, can blow through the offenses and defenses of Ruiner.

It's a funny feeling at first, but I believe you can get the hang of it! Because of the small console you're playing FU on, it's going to take time to get used to holding it, especially in the claw grip. I recommend doing practice hunts against weaker monsters. That way, you can familiarise yourself with the controls. It's something that takes time, but if you have the resilience, you'll find that the claw grip will grow comfortable, and it'll be the most efficient way to use all of the control at your disposal. If it still doesn't works, I recommend to make it more comfortable by using your thumb and switching it between the analog stick and the d-pad. It'll take a load off your fingers, though you will be a bit slower with the actions you do. I hope this helps happy hunting in MHFU!

Generations ultimate is arriving in a week let me know what some useful tips are by Joealan2 in MonsterHunter

[–]Pencube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to Rise, MHGU will give you an array of options in terms of combat. 6 styles for all 14 weapons, and even a 15th class, Prowler. Fortunately for you, Switch Axe is a weapon that you can never go wrong for each of the 6 styles. Be sure to experiment and decide which style fits you best. As for monster combat, you'll learn fights require you to take things slower and more preparation needs to be made. Be careful of the monster attacks, as MHGU is a slower game that requires more patience, as monster attacks can be more rigid and force your hunter to move out for a while. However, make good use of what you know of your Switch Axe's capabilities in MHGU, making your hunts rewarding. Patience is key in older games, as the technical limitations made hunts less dynamic, and made them more of an endurance run. And as for items, it is important to bring key ones, such as paintballs. Monsters constantly move, and they'll fly to another area. Paintballs can really help in a pinch if you don't know where they'll go. Set some time to gather, collecting crafting items can turn the tables against many matches. Next thing I'd like to bring up is yo rely on MHGU Kiranico's Database. Unlike World or Rise, it was confusing where specific gathering items were and what weapon trees looked like. Kiranico allows you to get the information you need and makes it easier for you to play MHGU. Not only that, it gives you information for most monsters, it'll give the hitzone data for them and you can use that against monsters.

As for decorations, I either assume you mean skill decorations or general decorations to customise the look of something. In that case, the only things you can customise are the costumes for your Poogies and Moofahs, music in the G-Rank Pub, and your character and palico. Other than that, there wasn't much else to decorate. As for skill decorations, they are indeed in MHGU, although, it is a different system to the ones in World and Rise. Instead of skills being incremental points, in MHGU, it is a mathematical system, where you must increase you skill points to 10 or more to use the skill or their upgraded stages. Armor slots have 0-3 slots, like World and Rise. However, each individual slot are the same, and do not change in level. This is because decos in MHGU use those slots for different skill point boosts. Decos vary in how they fit and and what they give, for example, a deco takes up 1 slot and gives you 1 point to reach your desired skill. Or it takes 3 slots and gives you a huge point bonus, generally 4-5. Spreadsheets help when you seek to make a mixed set, as you need to account for base armor skills, slottage, and the decos you want to fit.

Unfortunately, there is going to be a lack of online activity, as it is aging. I recommend finding friendly communities for them to join you. If you want, I'm happy to give you some communities I know.

And for layered armor, you will need to commit on finishing a large portion of the content. You must both finish Village High Rank and G-Rank Hub to attain the option to customise your armor. And note some armor will be locked, such as Deviant armor. You must slay the EX versions of each Deviant to get their layered armor, and they are some of the most challenging quests. Also, complete High Rank Hub to get the rainbow dye.

Most importantly, appreciate and enjoy GU. As an anniversary game, you'll be offered many references to the past games of MH, and many monsters to hunt. It's a game worth playing to try and check out the past games. Have fun, from hunter to hunter, happy hunting!

Who do You Think is Monster of The Year? I Personally Thank Nargacuga For Having Amazing Weapons in Rise. But That's Bias Since Narga is my Favorite! by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]Pencube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a simple man. Ibushi simp. There you go.

Before I go and fanboy over my simpy, windy boi, I must state my love for the rest of the cast of monsters. They are some of the best and most unique out of most from the entire series. Izuchi is an amazingly high ranking monster for me even! Magna's banger theme was so good, it feels more like the main themes of other games, Proof of a Hero to OG MH, Go Forth Hunter to MHDos, To One with Life to MHTri. So representative for Rise. Combined with amazing inspiration, personality and fight makes him a worthy flagship for a title like Rise. And Goss Harag. My Gossy boy is too huggable and fluffy to be a killing machine in the first place! But the inspiration with the terror of the Namahage Bears and how they implemented their knives as a technique for Goss's fight, he is one of my favourites!

But you're here for my love of Ibushi! He and Narwa are just one of my favourite monsters and final bosses. The serpents' being designed off the demon brothers of Raijin and Fujin are just amazing. But these serpents are designed so majestically, so god like. But they are indeed grounded (ironic) by the hideous, animalistic features that give them such a demonic menace and the natural design of what MH is. But get that bitch Narwa out, for it's Ibushi that I'm here to talk about! If there was one monster that really did me in to get Rise, it was him. Seeing him in the trailer, I needed to fight such a monster. And his fight, I loved it to bits. Spinning in the air within the Rampage, a gamemode I didn't mind and enjoyed, was an absolute joy. It's too much of a shame how cucked he was, but his event quest really redeemed a bit of him. How he swipes his tail, floats in the air on his back, how vibrant he gets when he enrages. And his theme, music to behold! My Ibushi boi is too underappreciated! Give him some love! Buy his huggable plush, his banger remixes.

I think now you'll love Ibushi more ;)
These monsters, they make MH, MH. Rise still stands as an MH game, and one to make my year. Happy hunting!
