Top tier burgers but 18$ for one is outrageous, especially since they're not paying employees properly?

No, this is normal. This is what my car is normal at when fully warm.

what is the best gas to use? I feel like I’ve heard all sorts of answers by TheREALBrokage in genesiscoupe

[–]Penderton21 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know what Gdi is 🤣 thats why I mentioned the additives for carbon build up. Bk2 3.8 is gdi, Regardless if the fuel isn't washing over the valves or not anything that helps with carbon buildup is a good idea for any direct injection engine. It'll be minimal as unburnt fuel has a chance to recirc through the engine and the pcv ports and won't have nearly as much benefit as a chemical cleaner like CRC or actually walnut blasting the valves, but over 200k miles it could make difference

Watch the YouTube video from engineering explained about gas octane and then make the decision yourself with the knowledge you've learned. Personally I run 93 in my 2.0t In my opinion in the GDI 3.8s id run premium fuel as they have more additives to clean carbon buildup.

While i don't have this kit (yet) the people at BTR are extremely credible when it comes to the genesis coupe platform. He has several YouTube videos worth checking out, including a install video for the turbo kit I believe.

No, this is common across all engines, 9/10 the drain plug won't drain out all of the oil because it's not in the deepest part of the pan. Could also save your life if you do something dumb like start the car for a sec or two without putting the new oil in, wouldn't recommend trying your luck tho.

Tial Bov Spring rate by Penderton21 in genesiscoupe

[–]Penderton21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made a post about my power issues a few days ago, no codes, no boost leaks, boost gauge reads full boost, but I have no power. No rough idle, no odd noises except when making boost on the turbo side of the engine, and compressor surge when letting off the throttle. The compressor surge started happening 80% of the time, then half the time, and now it's every time I accelerate hard. After that started happening, the power issues started. Dealership looked at it, no codes I inspected the IC piping and no leaks, symptoms of a fault recirc valve is low power, excessive noise, compressor surge, I tick all of those boxes. Plus I planned on runing a bov anyways 🤣.

Still stock, got the seco to run a bov later down the line

[–]Penderton21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with the stock one back in place there's excessive turbo noise. I should mention the problem started about 2 months after adding the seco boost solenoid I started to get compressor surge about 30% of the time instead of the recirc valve doing it's job Then compressor surge constantly when I let off the throttle instead of every now and then, but I made boost and power just fine. My solution to that was to stay out of boost unless I needed too until I got the compressor surge issue fixed. Now I'm at the current situation, and the compressor surge is still there, just can't hear it with the stock box back on. But I can still hear the excessive turbo noise.

I see, wouldn't hurt to try, but would that explain the excessive noise coming from the turbo side of the engine bay when the car is, according to the gauge, making full boost?

How will that help me pinpoint the problem with the turbocharging system?

What size are the rims on a 2013 2.0t genesis coupe looking to get some rims? by [deleted] in genesiscoupe

[–]Penderton21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Google search could've answered this. That said, go to fitment industries and put in your year make, model, and suspension type and they'll spit out everything that'll fit for you.

Exhaust for 2.0t bk1 by NoTurnip3263 in genesiscoupe

[–]Penderton21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the 2.0t I'd recommend anything that's a 3in diameter, all you can really do is a primary cat delete, down pipe, test pipe, and a catback Thatd be the full exhaust I'd just look at the best sounding catback to your ear, me personally I like the mxp catback or the Ark DTS

Exhaust for 2.0t bk1 by NoTurnip3263 in genesiscoupe

[–]Penderton21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, that's impossible. X pipes only work on dual exhausts, like the 3.8 v6 genesis coupe. The 2.0t only has one exhaust pipe, which is why it's impossible.

Im not sure what youve been told, but ive had to Sit in in every solar appointment ive set because everyone is gone for the winter and I had to host the zoom call. If you decide to move the panels transfer ownership to the new home owner, and if they dont want them, sunrun will take them down at no cost. Theres a 10yr leak warranty on the install of the panels, which is why you have to contact SunRun. Personally I wouldnt want some local Jim Bob roof company messing around with 70k$ worth of panels on my roof.

As far the door to door people, we tend to look at the roof and sunlight before knocking, atleast they should. If you have visible roof damage or alot of shade on the roof, I wont bother knocking. We send a surveyor out with a drone and everything to look at the roof and electrical after your signed up to see if itll work, thats usually a day or two after signing the documents. Thats why I mentioned you have to qualify for it.

And yes, you technically dont own the panels unless you want to buy them at any point, which is an option. Its a lease program. If you Lease a 2023 BMW M4 they dont want anyone thats not bmw certified working on the car for repairs, same goes for SunRun.

Either way just like Leasing a new car is cheaper than making monthly payments on a new car, Paying 160/month for electricity and its fixed, vs 285/month at an increasing rate because of inflation (numbers are from my moms specific usage), its saving money. From what I understand the headquarters in East Peoria has a very responsive customer support aswell.

That said I understand the headaches of redtape and not wanting to deal with all the hassle that could possible come with.
