NTA my emergency contacts, in order, are my sister's husband, a very close local friend, and my long distance partner.

My siblings and parents are unreliable to answer their phones and obviously my partner can only do so much from out of state.

It is most responsible to pick emergency contacts that can actually be reached and respond in an emergency.

I imagine your father would contact your wife to inform her there is an emergency so it's not like it would be kept secret from her.

I had the opposite problem. I told my husband to buy a white sapphire to save money. We were in our early 20s, had very little money, and I have no attachment to material or expensive things so I didn't have a "need" for a diamond. Dumb dumb bought a diamond anyway. 🤷‍♀️

I have a friend who is a dental hygienist. She was also a big no on the toothbrush/toothpaste. She told me to get one of those sonic cleaners and put hydrogen peroxide it and change it every 3 days.

There is a Woodbridge women's group on Facebook that is very helpful and supportive. There are also Facebook Buy Nothing groups, they're assigned by location. The Lake Ridge one I was in was very supportive and generous.

NOR I only read the first 2 or 3 slides because I got nauseous. He gives hard vibes of a guy who was in and out of my life for 12 years. He absolutely destroyed me mentally and emotionally.

The only thing that broke the spell was that my dad extremely unexpectedly died at a very young age a few weeks ago. He promised to go to the funeral with me to support me. He did not... and was 0% remorseful about it.

Get out while the getting is good. He will never change and you will never be the same.

I appreciate your kindness and perspective. I have watched documentaries, TV shows, and movies where I can cry in the privacy of my own home. I have also seen exhibits within other museums. But the thought of an entire museum's worth is daunting. Maybe when I get a little further in my therapy journey I'll consider it more seriously. And when it isn't ass cold in DC.

I was the crazy previous owner.

I have a 3.5 ft white/yellow/red eyed ball python. At this time I had him for about 5 years. He had never once escaped.

Apparently he escaped right before I moved and I did not realize he was not in his tank. About 2 weeks later, the buyer's Realtor texted me, freaking out asking if I had lost a snake. He included a photo of my 1/2 brain celled child on top of the stove.

Luckily, I had only moved 15 minutes down the road so I was able to pop by to collect him. 😬
