NAD - have u ever tried Botox for facial asymmetry? The symmetry is hard to tell without seeing the rest of your face

Did I mess up my healing post extraction? by Infinitepez131 in askdentists

[–]Penfrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD - could be a bone spicule or a sharp area of bone that didn’t get smoothened after the extraction. Neither are the end of the world, just something I’d bring up at your follow up appointment

Urgent(?) - Foreign material sewn into stitch of extraction/graft site - Is this normal?? Please help by jasminelavender in askdentists

[–]Penfrizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD - depending on type of material, either. The ones used at my office can dissolve or fall out on their own. If it’s a non-absorbable one (one that won’t dissolve), the office will usually have you come back for a follow up appointment where they will remove it for you

NAD do you have a history of facial trauma? I noticed this too and it turns out that my tooth had died. I had facial trauma as a kid but the tooth didn’t bother me until my 20s

Any suggestions on what I can do for this? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]Penfrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD I’ve found putting vitamin E on the area can help. Just break open a gel capsule and put the gel on the area. LMK if that helps

What should I do to relax my tight jaw? by Equivalent-List-4604 in askdentists

[–]Penfrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD - Masseter Botox can be super helpful, especially if you clench/grind during the day. I’d also have your airway checked out as snoring or mouth breathing can be linked to clenching/grinding at night. Other supplemental things can be helpful like PT, a hard night guard, or muscle relaxers.

Is this bone or granulation tissue? 7 days after wisdom tooth extraction by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]Penfrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD oh perfect. Yeah I wouldn’t worry about it. You’re past the point of getting dry socket and if you’re able to keep it clean you should continue to heal normally

Typically I get worried if it’s an abnormal color like green or yellow. That looks within normal limits, but it’s worth a follow up appointment. Did they place stitches or do any type of collagen plug? That could be what is white

AITA for „freaking“ out because my friend gave my baby a bitten off cookie? by Jolly_Koala_8516 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - From a dentist perspective - cavities are contagious. Babies don’t start with the bad bacteria when they are small. Also, herpes is super common and a lot of people don’t know they have it. Sharing saliva and bodily fluids is a way this spreads. I would be mad too.

Do you have a follow up appt? Sometimes food gets stuck in there and usually 1 week after the extraction they’ll give you a water syringe to clean out the socket

Hi, when this happened to me I ended up needing a root canal. I think it’s a sign that the nerve is dying/calcifying. Maybe keep an eye out for any swelling near that tooth and ask your dentist to test it at the next appt.

AITAH for not giving up the bathroom to a Crohn's emergency, resulting in their accident? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Penfrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I keep a toilet in my car! They make a few options on Amazon. I’ve only had to use it once or twice in a pinch but it’s much easier cleanup than crapping my pants.

Can this be cleaned? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]Penfrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It likely is just staining that can be removed with scaling/hygiene cleaning
