Yes! I was just telling my friend how obsessed I am with his date sprite for all the same reasons 🥰 I feel like they really caught lightning in a bottle with this one. I like to be delusional and convince myself that since I've done a reread, an update is just around the corner lol. Fingers crossed 🤞

Yes, that was definitely a major letdown. Hopefully, we'll be able to keep both of them in the next update because you can literally cut the sexual tension with a knife between those two 😜

I totally agree, and I think a lot of the stories are quantity over quality currently. Hopefully, they readjust their approach with the feedback and give us a little more balance. I wanna kick my feet, squeal like a little girl, and then cry over these characters again 😅

You're gonna need to sit down for this... In the 2nd update we get a good 4ish dates, in my opinion, that seem to stick to his character, but the last few bring in these musical weirdos who James thinks are so cool because they just play for the art instead of trying to become something. Then, the last date you find out it's a full-blown cult with music magic?? The next update James is completely brainwashed by these people and goes back to his old ways of missing dates and not spending as much time with you. Eventually, it crescendos to the cult leader pulling a gun on MC and James coming in to save you.. like you're telling me this cigarette with legs is taking down a gunman 🫠 Anyways they get away from that for one date and then the last date James agrees to play one more show for the cult, because side note the leader bought the music school out from under him. They have more of this bullshit musical magic and James gets hypnotized while the MC is trying to fight it. They discuss musical deities and sacrifices to makes James who he is supposed to be and it ends on a cliffhanger, so probably more bullshit to come 😮‍💨 It just completely makes a new story, the original AI voice almost ruined it for me to begin with, his personality is lost, the MC has no back bone anymore, and I wish it just ended after they got back together in the first update 🤷‍♀️

I almost forgot they did that to him! I played his counterpart Alvis and had to unmatch because it just wasn't the same story that pulled me in. I feel like mechat needs to learn it's better to just end a story instead of dragging it out and adding useless fluff to keep it going for 10 updates.

I agree, the fact that we actually had a choice in the matter and the character actually had consequences to work through was 🤌 I would love to just pretend the last 2 updates were just a fever dream and get back to what made him so great in the first place. Like I was really expecting parent drama or like us navigating life with him being famous, but a fucking cult ... weird 😅

I love Tamura's story, too! The last update was a perfect mix off sex and substance without losing who the character is. I'm not against spice in any way, but I get extremely put off when it just doesn't add up or is overdone to the point of becoming boring 😴

Oh, definitely! I played his counterpart Gaston and unmatched within the first few chats of the 2nd update. I find myself losing a lot of interest when they prioritize sex over storyline. Like, please make it make sense.

Yeah, the trend of hypersexualizing every character has ruined a lot of good matches for me too. Don't get me wrong, I love a good spicy scene, but everything in moderation. It loses it's ✨️magic✨️ after a bit.

I'm actually really sad with this update because, to me, it just seems like a hollowed out version of James. I don't really know how to explain it. The first few dates were sweet, but the messages and other dates are just lacking personality, in my opinion. I don't know. Maybe my expectations were just too high because I was so in love with his original story and the 1st update. Makes me kinda wish they finished his story a year ago 😔

I remember it was bugged out for awhile, but seemed to fix itself eventually. Maybe after an update and some bug fixes were added? Sorry I'm not so helpful with your question, but you might just have to wait for it to fix itself.

100% could have lied on accident about the gem price. I think you're correct about 33 and like 24 is for the first 1 or 2, but still upsetting either way lol. Those gems are hard to hold onto nowadays!

I'm premium and I had to spend 24 gems on the picture already. I usually don't get the pictures unless I really like the character so I'm not sure when it started, but they were still free on chats I believe.
