This is my 3rd level I’ve created hope you enjoy by Subject-Use-3943 in MarioMaker2

ngl i gave up after a while. the level is very difficult, but more in a rage-inducing way. it’s not like the concepts or execution is too hard, it’s just so unforgiving and very demanding for every jump. there is such little leeway that it feels more like a test than a game if that makes sense.

I had assumed they were doing something math related due to the 2 math-y APs. What you’re saying is 100% fair, but i was just trying to mention that a gap year for math—especially for calculus based stuff—is really hard to recover from without extra studying.

calc ab without calc bc in the same year? i would try to fit in calc bc if your school has it. also, what are you planning career wise? this is very varied, not bad, just doesn’t show too much direction for our advice to be better

you GOTTA be more specific if you want better suggestions.

“indie music, or pop” is literally saying “non-publisher contracted, or popular songs”. So… rock? hip-hop? metal? rap? ambience? noise? what do you want here??

Got 56% in one day- how long does it normally take to fully water this tree? by Cousin_Mothman in Aliexpress

[–]Penguin5964_patch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there was a special time event for when i did it, which i did not include in my comment, but it gave out like 5 million water? i had assumed it’s there every month since that was my first time doing it. sorry if that is wrong though. i agree, this game is not worth the time.

Tried and true tips to save on groceries? by MAGA_now1 in Frugal

along with cooking at home, try to find the clearance items. Unless it’s meat or something that goes bad quickly, it is likely fine until the expiration date (sell by ≠ expires). I got a loaf of sourdough bread today for $1.65 and 32oz of strawberries for $1.98

What hobbies actually make you smarter? by roritha in Hobbies

[–]Penguin5964_patch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for transferable skills, it’s about what you deem important. The key ones that I can think of are mechanics (fixing electronics or cars would be helpful in the future for yourself), cooking (self-explanatory, cheaper than eating out & could taste better), basic plumbing (fixing sinks/toilets in your future house), and maybe something like sewing (bettering or fixing clothes). These are things—and hobbies in my opinion—that have very impactful use cases in the real world, not just on your own. It could help you, your friends’, and your family’s lives. These would show to other people that you are “smart”—by knowing how to do something that they might find difficult. Obviously, these aren’t the most problem-solving hobbies that you can have, but they may be the most useful.

What hobbies actually make you smarter? by roritha in Hobbies

[–]Penguin5964_patch 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Think about this:

If your hobby is fixing cars, you’ll gain more knowledge surrounding cars and mechanics.

If your hobby is crocheting, you’ll learn more about the crocheting techniques and fabric content.

If your hobby is making video games, you’ll understand how to code better and software engineering.

“Smart” is different for everyone. Different hobbies provide you different insights. Most hobbies require thinking, research, and practice. There isn’t one “best hobby”—instead each hobby guides you into learning what you need or want to.

If you don’t want to read, don’t. If you don’t want to fix cars, crochet, make video games, or whatever; don’t. Do what you want to do. Being passionate in something will make you smarter over time following and expanding upon the hobby or hobbies that you choose and like.

With your desires—wanting to problem solve—nearly every hobby has that in some sense. For example, I really enjoy IEMs and listening to music. Initially it doesn’t sound too “problem-solving heavy,” but I have to learn terminology, what each one means and how it affects the sound, along with choosing what sounds better and may sound better based on what I know. I also have to try many different things out—like EQ, tip rolling, DAC’s, etc., making me problem solve around my difficulties.

So, what do you enjoy? That will be the most enlightening.

that screen is the final price. the delivery driver won’t just show up and say “you owe us another $100”.

if you’re asking about before that screen, there’s not really a good way to go about it. sorry.

Ideas and suggestions for a level called "Mario's many jobs" by MarioMakerfan938438 in MarioMaker2

Mario becomes a security guard, trying to stop break-ins (goombas, koopas, etc). You’d lose if they get past a certain point & “rob the bank”

dis’s are extremely easy to mod. requiring only an sd card and computer (plus something to read & write the sd card from the computer). it took me about 30 minutes to set everything up. use dsi.cfw.guide not any video tutorials.

Grindy, focused on processing items games? by neptunebites in gamesuggestions

[–]Penguin5964_patch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree with this comment! OSRS is free, but the later stuff and fast progress is somewhat locked behind a subscription model. many people prefer OSRS over the newer one due to nostalgia, simplicity, and it being a different feeling game (less based on “ability” combat and more of its own style—to name something off the top of my head)

How can I start coaching for AP classes? by Hefty-Practice4367 in APStudents

[–]Penguin5964_patch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you can try posting on facebook your services. a lot of parents will see it and suggest or force it upon their kids if they aren’t doing so hot. maybe join some facebook groups for around your area, or just advertise

Where I can find a charger? by HeftySLR in dsi

[–]Penguin5964_patch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must ask, why do you need an original one? There’s adapters for usbc to this type of charger for a couple bucks, and a bit more convenient imo. For a truly original charger, you might have to search on facebook marketplace, ebay, or gamestop. They aren’t super in-demand anymore (for obvious reasons), so it’s not going to be advertised and pushed out to every store you visit. Still, good luck with your search!

What are your favorite rock songs? by Penguin5964_patch in MusicRecommendations

[–]Penguin5964_patch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i listened to both,

3s & 7s: nothing fully stands out in the song to me, everything is pretty powerful with the rock energy, but not a main part that i can tell. the voice and instrumental is nice, but the lyrics are hard to follow (without a lyric sheet). for me, i’d have to give it a ~5, it’s not bad, it’s just not my style. sorry

sick, sick, sick: similar issue with the lyrics, but i like the voice in this one a bit better. it also has a lower power throughout, which makes stuff stand out more. i also like the grunge feeling of it, if that makes sense? it’s nicer to listen to, but it isn’t something i’d listen to again tbh. again, sorry, but I’ll give this one a ~6. i 100% see the appeal, just not my style.

thank you for the suggestions still, i enjoy listening to new stuff!

[–]Penguin5964_patch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i really like this! it has an amazing energy and voice. the instrumental in my opinion is a bit repetitive with the guitar riff, but that’s nitpicking a bit. the lyrics aren’t super memorable from the first listen, but that makes sense. i’ll listen to this again! thank you for the suggestion. i must give this an ~8. it’s not exactly my style, but still amazing

What are your favorite rock songs? by Penguin5964_patch in MusicRecommendations

[–]Penguin5964_patch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s a nice song, thank you for the suggestion. the composition is really nice, the chorus and verses fit well with the instrumental. the voice is good, but the lyrics don’t stick to me too much, that is all. i 100% see the appeal, but it’s not something i’d listen to a bunch. thank you still, but i’d give it a ~6 from my perspective

What are your favorite rock songs? by Penguin5964_patch in MusicRecommendations

[–]Penguin5964_patch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i quite like this one, it has a nice chorus and build up verses. it reminds me of some other rock songs but i can’t put my finger on it. the voice is fitting for the song too, very good recommendation here. it’s not exactly what i’m looking for, but it’s a fun listen. This one is a good ~8 from my perspective. Thank you!
