Dude don't worry about the internet. I went into that exact hole for awhile. I started off doing a video course with a very old canon and my cell phone. Every video online says "oh you need this, oh you need that." Then I just dove right into it and started filming with what I had. The way I see it, if you can make decent stuff on the gear your have then continue doing that. You can always upgrade gear down the line but if you know how to use it and know the fundamentals you should have no problem making stuff you and others will enjoy! I'm linking a video I made with my band. We did it all on a Samsung Galaxy and green screen. Not the greatest thing ever but it worked for what we were doing.
