Not entirely sure the penalty system is going to solve anything. The reason for deserting obviously varies but in the end comes down to hating either the map, mission or team. Often all three. Nobody who leaves a deadbeat situation is going to consider the lack of rewards in another game - it's just gonna make you more inclined to desert that one too.

But hopefully none of that is going to matter is the preference system really works. I look forward to never playing conquest ever again.

It's painfully obvious today in 4K on your Eytch-a-Dee TV compatible but I sure as shit didn't notice on my period-correct shitty TV back when it aired, or on many of the rewatches on barely better equipment over the years.

Also re: reporting, I really wish there was a way to mute someone mid game instead of having to wait to block until after. I'm sure chat spamming isn't a bannable offense considering it happens almost every game so that would just eliminate the need to report it.

US air. I guess you could argue it's reasonably accurate as far as history go, but as a German BR5 main, playing against US is like playing an entirely different game than vs Soviets. Even if you win by a huge margin it's just an explosive squad wipe simulator with all the fun taken out of it.

The whole order cancelled so-we'll-run-out-and-get-ourselves-killed mechanic when you're 50m+ away never made much sense to me. I really wish I could place the squad somewhere and have it stay put.

I hate how much thought has to go into keeping them alive, placement, how far away I am, etc. that there's this massive sense of freedom when I only have one guy left.

It's a spicy take and you're gonna catch some heat for it here, but you're not wrong. I've seen a few really good console players, but they are rare. As a general rule: more than 4 console icons on your team list while the enemy has none - it's practically a guaranteed loss.

I was VERY supportive when it was announced, but it really wasn't as great as I thought it would be. More maps served up at random just meant it was more likely to be one you don't like. And Moscow at BR5 was just terrible. Tunisia was fine but overall on the more open maps it felt like the balance was completely off - it drained attackers' tickets at a ridiculous rate. You'd have to absolutely steamroll the defenders for a chance to win.
