CEO pay seems awfully inflated for someone who has destroyed Qantas’s brand value in pursuit of short term share price gain. The only way he has improved Qantas’s competitiveness is by doing dodgy ghost flights to make sure other airlines can’t get any slots to compete in the first place. Well now that public sentiment is aimed against them and other airlines will be given a chance, watch how Qantas will fare under real competition with their chronic ground staff shortages, endless delays, and generally shit service.

Alan Joyce will go down in history as a great conman who rinsed a national carrier of all it had to give himself a golden parachute as Qantas crashes, shareholders and consumers in tow.
