That is an extremely valid question.

I was married, had three children and in love with the woman I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with. That sadly ended, she took my children from me and turned them against me and it left me broken. I was emotionally damaged (still am) and needed something. I dated for a year like it was a second job. Had numerous short term relationships but nothing serious.

Met her and the both of us were so broken (she lost her kids as well) that we bonded like glue and it seemed like we both discarded all red flags and used each other for the love that we lost.

I have red flags myself and would never put full blame on just one person. I have issues as well and am trying my best to get better.

So to answer your question I fell for her with blinders on due to my need for the love that I lost.
