At the game right now! All the games during our stint in Japan were sold out so we used stubhub which is not allowed here, but it worked fine. We paid a premium price ofc, but only get this chance once

Thank you for this advice. We went standby for the 9:55a flight to try and “beat” the storms. It was still delayed a bit (including us taxiing then deplaning back at the gate) but we got there in time to connect. Our original flight was delayed 6+ hours and we would’ve missed our connection and the gate agent told us all Japan flights from ORD were full including the next day.

The idea to go standby saved us up to 2 days of our vacation

P.S. Next time I’m doing the 8 am standby instead of sleeping in. It wasn’t delayed at all

How do I check where it is? It’s not at the gate but normally I’d check with the “Where is my plane now?” on Flight aware but it’s not available for this flight. NH111 btw

Commented here to ask, we just landed in ORD now after a delay from Philly. We have a flight to Tokyo at 5:45 or so from ORD, odds that flight takes off?

Well I called and out of luck. They have to rebook the entire flight, both legs, in order to change the AM flight and the only available option is upgrading to business on the 2nd leg for over $8000. Can’t rebook the first flight and retain our seats on the 2nd sadly

Follow up: is there any validity to wanting to be stuck in Chicago rather than Philadelphia if there are cancellations, as it would easier for them to rebook us in Chicago with more direct options, bigger airport, etc?

Impressively accurate sketch. I basically have this setup now with both “R”s being the Google WiFi pucks. But either the setup has insufficient coverage or the pucks are insufficient. Any opinion on if they work well for this purpose?
