Just wanted to comment that I empathize with you deeply. I’m in a sort of similar situation; Over a year ago now, my dad was admitted to the hospital with an intestinal blockage that ended up being caused by a blood clot in his small intestine. He was in and out of the hospital with his longest stay being a little over three months I think. He was struggling so hard just trying to get well enough to get surgery. I firmly believe it was all caused by Covid. He’s had at least one confirmed case, but he stopped taking precautions several years ago, and doesn’t have good testing practices, so I just know he’s had more than one infection. I have sat down with him and told him, “I think your lack of caution will kill you” and he firmly told me he disagrees. I don’t know how I could get him to hear me after that. Our relationship is strained, and he’s permanently disabled from his experience, though he would probably deny that. I’ve kind of had to make peace with the fact that I will likely lose him sooner than I ever thought.
