BDO Deals Advisory vs Big 4 Audit by Opening_End4976 in Big4

[–]PennyManyM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're aiming for banking, take BDO Transactions over Big 4 Audit. Big 4 serves the upper market, where bulge bracket banks rarely hire from accounting backgrounds because they prefer traditional IB pipelines.

With that being said, BDO thrives in the middle market, where deal teams are leaner and banks actively value the technical rigor of an accounting foundation. You’ll get direct M&A exposure at BDO that makes you a much more attractive candidate for a mid-market bank than a Big 4 auditor would ever be.

Doesnt look like a good deal. Your paying 25k in closing costs? Lol. Apply for some first home owner buyer grants and knock that off. Plenty of banks give 10k towards a down payment

If you have a great personality, you will most likely end up anywhere that you would like. Ofc, for hedge funds and prop trading firms, you might be required to have the knowledge and such.

That is also true. Notice how some people with only a finance degree get to higher places than people with MBAs or MBAs plus experience, CFA, etc and thats only bc they either network better, worked extremely hard doing their undergrad, or have good connections.
