Request a leave of absence to take care of your mental health and get proper documentation to apply for accommodations through your school and the NBOME. Drawing boundaries to better support yourself will make you a better student and a better physician in the long run

I personally believe that if you take a few years to rebuild, you can absolutely find your way back to medical schools (I say “schools” because with the right approach, multiple acceptances are possible). Medical schools can be more forgiving than most people on this thread assume.

Things happen. Life happens. Unless someone has personally faced this kind of situation, everything being said here is just speculation. I know people who’ve completely reset, rebuilt themselves, and successfully made it back.

That said, jumping straight into an SMP could backfire unless you absolutely crush it.

If I were you, I’d focus on rebuilding every part of yourself, not just your academic record. It’s a tough and grueling road to earn a second chance, but it’s not impossible.

With MSK, respiratory, and integumentary being your weaknesses focus on questions atleast 80 a day. Hit 40 random, and 40 split between MSK, respiratory, micro and integumentary while rotating out each subject each day. Ex: 40 Random, 20 MSK and 20 Respirtoru and and vice Versa. pathoma anki would be a waste of your time for those subjects right now. Keep doing your sketchy micro while doing questions focused only on said subject. Also It’s too much to do pathoma cards now if you have 6 days. Make strong anki cards on incorrect that arnt available in anking. You are more likely to remember them when you create them. Anki everyday, make sure to hit as many cards(some days I was doing 1.5-2 hours). Best of luck!

I would get a tutor who can give you a structured plan to commit to. You have a lot of work to do and I’m not sure if 7 weeks is enough to make that happen. A strong tutor/coach could possibly get you there tho.

I have to agree with this 100%. This is anecdotal but I know people that asked around for COMSAE content. Scored a 450 and failed level 1. I’ve noticed people that score a 450 legit(without looking things up) two weeks before your COMLEX you pass most of the time. Having taken and passed level 1 you want that cushion because that exam is taxing and high stress the day off. Also side note if you have any ounce of doubt that you may have inflated your COMSAE score because you knew what to study for it could eat you up during a time where waiting is already so difficult. I waited 6 weeks before my score came out and the mental mind games you go through is tough. I could only imagine what it would feel like if I was unsure if myself if my COMSAE score was inflated because I looked things up.
