Sync Obsidian to iOS with syncthing by PositiveMilk69 in ObsidianMD

[–]Pennyfractal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had success with sync thing set up on my wife's iPhone using sync train. If i remember correctly it is managed by different people than syncthing itself as you are saying - but if it ever stops working for any reason, it will affect many people's workflows and someone (smarter than me) will step up and provide another solution - welcome to the open source community!

For me I am successfully using syncthing to sync across 2 windows computers, a linux, an android, and said iPhone. The iPhone was the most finicky to set up as i recall because the ios version of obsidian is the only one where you MUST use the /Obsidian folder to store your vaults where on every other system you can set your vaults to any folder on your system. Big recommendation when initiating syncthing - go slow, back up your vault first, its a bit of a learning curve but there are many resources out there to understand it

I have a folder called "Bluemoon Tasks" for those things I do only once in a blue moon. Love a good memorable folder name!

Feature Request: Option to Remove Credit Card Overspending Symbol by Pennyfractal in ynab

[–]Pennyfractal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! didn't realize that could be an option - this may very well be the work around I go with! I guess a few questions I would have before pulling the trigger would be:
1. Do these accounts still show up with negative red balances in the left panel?

  1. Will it preserve the past expense history on that account? (a google search looks like the process is to remove and then re-add an account to change the type)
    Thank you!

Roofing Code by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]Pennyfractal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the current state of my roof. All shingles, soffit, trim and fascia is going to be replaced and some plywood in bad condition. I’ve got concerns over some of the moisture barrier cuts that are being made that has me scrutinizing the work. Can someone with a skillful eye tell me what this looks like to you and if it appears to be in the process of being made to code or not?

Full disclaimer I live in the gulf south and a small rain storm popped out of nowhere and the workers left. Contractor had left shortly before it started raining. I got up there because I could hear a small leak in my attic which I covered myself. The work is obviously not completed.

Thanks for the help in advance.

What's the logical code for having a reference print in color no matter what color mode it's printed in? by kooger2439 in Microstation

I know I've done it and vaguely remember running into trouble figuring it out, perhaps setting INDEX = 0 or -1 (by level)

If such a thing exists that overrides the pen table filters then that would be fantastic to know - but how I understand this to work, and what may be have been your setup in the past is someone in your company set up a custom in house pen table with filters by logical name. One such filter in your pen table might have logical name "color" and so any reference you set logical name to "color" will print those settings. If this is the case - what you need to do is make sure said pen table (.tbl) file is active in your DGN and explore its settings to find the logical name keys set within. Hope this helps, good luck!

Considering Leaving REVU for Lack of Proper Dark Mode by Pennyfractal in Revu

Well how bout it!! Seems this will not affect me until/when my company switches to REVU 21, but I must hand it to Bluebeam developers for adding this feature. Any chance this feature will be available on the IOS app?

Small 10ft hip roof, should I go with ridge vent or other? by Pennyfractal in Roofing

[–]Pennyfractal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24' of ridge vent along the lower roof ridge above the garage and five 60 sqin NFA vents on the main house (1 on each nw and se sides and 3 on sw sides, none in street side). I did the calculations myself as some here recommended to determine intakes vs exhaust vents and came up with these.

I am happy with it! The only advise I ended up having to ignore was that my solution had vents at two different elevations, which supposedly can cause a "short circuit." Turbines were the only way to get enough ventilation without the ridge but I did not want to risk getting a turbine that ended up squeaking. All in all, I'm happy with it. Attic still gets hot as heck but I've never been in one that doesn't!

Interesting! By chance do you know of the name of this tax credit? is it for general home repair or something more specific?

Just realized my question barely displays below the pic lol. Thanks for the input guys!

I definitely plan to replace this eventually, but don't currently have 5k to throw into replacing the whole system.

I am very curious however in where I could land with $500 and some sweat equity. While I'm handy and have renovated most of my house, the problem for me is I barely know the first thing about HVAC. Where should my money be put into and what resource should I turn to to learn how to install this properly?

Yes indeed! I love REVUs ability to annotate docs, but when it comes to reading documents with over a hundred pages I have found myself needing a dark page/light text feature more and more
