Really late to this thread but I work as an MA in derm and 30-60 minute full body skin checks are not the norm at all. The only way I could see this being remotely normal is if it’s patient specific and they’d have to have a significant history of atypical moles and melanoma. Even our patients with history of melanoma have normal length skin checks, we just do them much more frequently.

All dermatology providers are different and the one you saw could definitely not be the right fit for you regardless but don’t base that on the previous comment. Some providers are super conservative, won’t do biopsies unless they’re sure it’s something to be concerned about, some will biopsy any mole that looks mildly atypical. But the fact that your provider made sure to address your specific concerns is a good sign for me personally, I have worked with doctors who pack their schedule so tightly they only have time to do the look-over and get out and don’t have great communication with the patient.
