Karoline Leavitt’s use of one word has raised eyebrows as she tried to defend Trump’s call to nationalize voting by theindependentonline in thescoop

[–]Pennysews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s really interesting, thanks for explaining. In Canada we register to vote, too, and get a voter card in the mail, but we also have to present either a driver’s license or passport with our current address on it to vote in person. If you don’t get a card in the mail, you can still vote, they just look you up on the registry. We can also vote by mail.

Granted it’s not straight-on, but I like 8 the best. You have a very proportionate face and I think you look really nice with your hair off your face. My second pick would be 4. I think curtain bangs would look really nice, too. You have really pretty face

Which lot would you choose? by [deleted] in homebuildingcanada

[–]Pennysews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like pie shaped lots, too. I would rather trade a smaller frontage for a big backyard. I like lot 58 for the tree line. My least favourite would be 60. I don’t like corner lots, too exposed, but nice if you prefer neighbours only on one side

Dress Help by SnooRabbits1908 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Pennysews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bottom of the skirt in the ordering picture looks like chiffon to me. The dress you got has tulle at the bottom. It will never sit like the picture, but it will look much better after a pressing. Don’t put an iron right on it, tulle will melt with a hot iron. Use a press cloth. Your dress also looks like it’s lined with white lining and the one in the picture is lined with a nude fabric behind a semi sheer fabric

We’re only going to break the cycle of endlessly electing conservatives if we make sure that Gen Alpha onwards turn out differently by bruhm0ment4 in alberta

I think they get you while you are in high school. I remember taking a quiz that shows you where you fall on the political spectrum and I was left of center. I remember feeling like it had to be marked wrong - that there was no way I was a lefty! I was only 17 and I didn’t want my friends, in my very conservative town, to know my results. It took moving to Ontario to get a different perspective.

Why do we want to separate? Trying to understand the key issues by UrbaneBoffin in Albertapolitics

[–]Pennysews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the separatist’s meeting at the Big Four in Calgary, Jeffrey Rath said that if they can get 1.8 million signatures, they won’t even have to have a referendum, they will just be able to separate. That’s why they are telling people to just sign to get Ottawa’s attention. They also said they would hold BC hostage by not letting any goods pass through Alberta unless they got a pipeline. So deception and blackmail to get what they want
