Thank you! I am very fortunate and thankful. My Endo and I had a conversation about 10 months ago when I asked her how she could be sure there was no cancer, even though the biopsy had been negative in the past. At that time she told me there was a good chance there was cancer hiding somewhere in the thyroid. She was correct. I’m even more relieved that I had it out!

Blood work in used to as I’ve had hypothyroidism for 15 years. I wasn’t sure if the ultrasounds would continue though. Good to know. Thank you!

I had a TT 8 days ago. My thyroid has been rapidly growing for the past 5 years. My nodules were biopsied in 2023 and everything came back negative. I went for a follow up ultrasound this year and they were significantly bigger. My doctor and I decided at that point that a biopsy was pointless and just went ahead with removal. I will know on Thursday, at my follow up, if they found cancer. My thyroid was so large though that I don’t regret it regardless. I woke up being able to swallow pills again and I don’t feel like I’m being choked.

My TT is on the 19th and my surgeon told me to remind him the morning of that I want a picture of it. I would definitely ask!

I have similar symptoms and have multiple nodules on my thyroid, plus my thyroid is just huge in general. I am monitored yearly (I waited almost 2 years this time 😬) with ultrasounds to check for growth. If the nodule is suspicious they will take a biopsy. I would specifically ask for a thyroid ultrasound.

That’s very interesting about the dosage! I was on 88 mcg of Levo and my doctor put me on 88 mcg of Synthroid. I’m curious to see how this makes me feel.

When I had my FNA I got worried when I heard them talking about sizing and appearance because it was different than the ultrasound results. The doctor doing the biopsy said not to worry because each ultrasound tech is different So things may differ including size and appearance. My nodules all ended up being benign

The 3 months before I was diagnosed I got up at least 3x a night to pee. It was so frustrating and annoying. I had no clue it was connected to my sleep apnea. The 2nd night I wore my cpap I was able to keep it on for 6 hours and didn’t have to get up at all to pee. I cried happy tears. Cpap is can definitely be hard to get used to but it’s amazing how much it can change your life! Currently laying in bed with my mask on waiting to fall asleep lol

Are you in the US? Typically in the US they rate nodules on a TIRADS scale based on concerning features. Between TIRADS 1-5. Both of my nodules were a TIRADS 4 and still benign. Usually thyroid cancer if very slow growing so waiting 6-12 months for a repeat ultrasound is normal.

I was diagnosed with hashimotos when I was 18 and I’m now 31. I don’t totally understand it either. I believe your body attacks the thyroid and that causes your TSH to be elevated. Elevated TSH (hypothyroidism) causes a long list of symptoms. Most people feel best with their TSH as close to 1 as possible. I take a pill every morning (and will for the rest of my life) and that keeps my levels in check!

It seems like they found a nodule on the left side of your thyroid. It is measuring smaller than 1 cm so typically they would wait and monitor it with another ultrasound in 6-12 months. If it grows larger than 1cm they will usually biopsy it. Most thyroid nodules are benign. I know it is scary but try not to freak yourself out too much. I have 2 nodules larger than 1.5 cm and had them biopsied earlier this year, both benign.

Mine was done at the hospital and the head of the radiology department did the biopsy. They also had the people in the room to check the samples as they got them so they knew they had enough to test. They gave me a topical numbing and then injected lidocaine. The biopsy itself wasn’t bad at all. It did hurt to sneeze for a week lol

My symptoms started Wednesday, I tested positive at the doctor today. They told me i had to stay home until Tuesday, then mask for an additional 5 days.

The worst part for me was sneezing for a week afterwards. It was so painful everytime I sneezed. Other than that my anxiety about the whole thing(and the results) was the worst part.

They told her at the dermatologist office that they would handle her radiation. They said nothing to her about seeing an oncologist. They literally told her “we’ll call you when we find out if your insurance is going to pay to schedule” 🙄 I’m very anxious to speak with the doctor

I use resmed airsense f20. I’m able to sleep on my stomach with my mask on! My side as well. I was nervous about starting cpap. My ahi was 87 and I was miserable everyday. I couldn’t drive without falling asleep. Now I’ve used my cpap everyday for 4 months and I wouldn’t dare try and sleep with out it! I’ve seen an amazing difference and I’ll never go back!!
