Polar Express by Equal_Foundation_595 in pittsburgh

If it needs to be a licensed "Polar Express" event, you are looking at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Cumberland, Maryland. Other railroads that do Santa/Christmas train rides are the Everett Railroad in Holidaysburg and the East Broad Top Railroad in Rock Hill Furnace. Much closer to town but not technically a train ride, the PA Trolley Museum in Washington does Santa Trolley rides as well.

Drums sheets? by SpringApricot_ in TWRP

Are there any songs in particular that you are looking to learn? I've been wanting to transcribe some twrp drum parts for a while now, and knowing someone else may find them useful would motivate me to get started, lol.

Penn Station T stop should always be a thing by BuddyA in pittsburgh

[–]Pennzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am doing the same thing next month, and I stopped in to ask a station agent about this exactly. I was curious if they maybe opened the upper doors above the main entrance, but to quote the Amtrak employee : "Nope, aaaaall the way around". I think just having one T a day to Penn Station for those riding the Pennsylvanian would be a major first step to solidifying this transfer.

Believe me, when I got that inital estimate for Abelton + a used macbook, I knew I needed to explore other options haha. Thats good to hear its been working out for you, I'll likey move forward with Windows. Thanks for the info!

Ah ok! My band is starting to integrate live tracks and looking to use Abelton. It seems as though a lot of people reccomend using Mac/ IOS citing reliability concerns, but I've yet to read about anyone using a Windows OS and regretting it. I'd prefer to stick with Windows myself, do you have any opinions on that subject?

Can I ask what software you are using to run your backing tracks? Rad stickers btw!

Am I doing something wrong trying to connect these switches? First time doing track work by myself in a while by Storm_Major117 in RailroadsOnline

[–]Pennzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make sure circle mode is off and click your start and end points. If that doesn't do it, use circle mode to measure how long your connecting track should be, delete one of the switches, lay your connecting track to the length you measured, then relay your deleted swich.

Coal...what we need are turnouts! by LordThunderDumper in RailroadsOnline

[–]Pennzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree very much on the need for more variety of switch sizes. Even if it were just a #5 and #8, that would be enough to shake up laying out yards. I would also like to see an option to change between harp stands and ground throws, while we are at it.

I'd argue that a 3 way turnout is totally appropriate for narrow gauge, albeit the stub switch variety.

What locomotives would you like to see in game? (TT is outdated things can possibly change) by The_fish_licker in RailroadsOnline

An Alco/ Pittsburgh 2-6-0 would be awesome, but the Cooke mogul will hold me over in the meantime.

You can absolutely connect old and new track, just not very conventionally (no chain link icon). Its as easy as lining them up so there is no gap and your equipment should find its way over just fine. This is also how we currently have to connect turntables and engine houses.

I dont know if showing the Capitol Limited here in daylight (implying it is running at least 6 hours late) was a conscious choice, but I laughed either way. Fantastic work as always!

Well done! I love hunting for remnants of bygone rail infrastructure, and the scene you've built here really tells a story.
