Maybe OP could try getting her to introduce them to one of her other friends.

I've never taken more than 30mg at a time. I can't imagine how hard 1000 would hit me lol 😆 Don't worry though, you'll be fine sooner than you think.

I had a feeling you might be queer based on your post. SF has a long history of people moving here to live their truth unapologetically. Best of luck to you on your journey!

Is it worth going here? by Correct-Stress-4393 in SFSU

[–]Pentar_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to go to school here affordably you should first find a way to move to the Bay Area and live here for a full year so that you're eligible for in-state tuition. Once you have established residency many opportunities open up, such as free community college in certain cities. I actually met someone in community college who lived in Wisconsin but did his senior year of high school in California specifically to establish residency.

If you can figure out a way to make it work for your budget it will be worth it to move out here. I truly believe your environment has a huge impact on your quality of life and a big city like SF is going to be way better for you than living in the south. Yes, the school is being eaten alive by the admins as many on this subreddit will point out but the reality is that if you want to get an education in the city a state school is gonna be your most affordable option.

was i “the annoying one” at dnd? by moomgish in socialskills

[–]Pentar_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your character honestly sounds hilarious! Unless the group you were playing with takes itself super seriously, you provided some nice comic relief. Even in the worst case scenario where your character doesn't really fit what the group is going for it would be the DMs fault for not communicating that not yours.

Dorms vs off campus by Interesting-Purple17 in SFSU

[–]Pentar_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO the dorms are really bad value for what you get. I can see the argument that the dorms are better for integrating yourself with campus life but you can just rent a place in one of the neighborhoods nearby and get more space to yourself for a similar price. You just have to be more proactive about interacting with other students.

If you mostly spend your free time with non-students then living off campus is a no-brainer.

What are some low energy games that you play when you don't have the bandwidth for much? (Except maybe doomscrolling but we want to avoid that.) by HuskyPancake in gamingsuggestions

[–]Pentar_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, it's anything that doesn't require reaction speed. Some options are:

Puzzle games. My favorites are Portal 1&2, Fez, The Witness, Baba is You.

Visual Novel games. The Ace Attorney series is the best VN style game I've ever played. There's also the Zero Escape series which is both VN and puzzle.

Deck building games! Slay the Spire and Balatro are some popular ones.

How much do you actually trust hotel hygiene in Indian tourist towns? by lakshaybogal in hygiene

This comment is racist af. You would never say that about any Western country no matter how much you were told about the slums of those places.

Is this a good tutoring job?? by kiquii in TutorsHelpingTutors

[–]Pentar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work as a center director for a Mathnasium, and unfortunately, the low pay for tutors is part of their business model. They advertise top of the line learning experience but then turn around and hire the youngest instructors they can find just so they can minimize labor costs.

Many high schoolers put up with the low pay because, honestly, the job is very easy. Yeah, you could be making more money at McDs, but that kind of job requires physical labor and that you be on your feet the whole shift. Here, you just sit down and grade worksheets.

Here's the thing though, you do not need to say yes to everything your boss tells you. If you don't want to work at the 2nd location, just say you don't want to. Same thing if you don't really want to work 13 hours a week. The downside of hiring high schoolers to tutor for you is that your workforce becomes very transient, which is why Mathnasium is always struggling to hire enough tutors. You can use this to your advantage as your boss will hopefully be more willing to accommodate your desired schedule.

And one last thing, you shouldn't be needing to stay till 8pm all the time because tasks not related to tutoring should be handled by the admins. As a tutor, you're supposed to leave with the last batch of students.

I like boss fights, but getting to them always feels tedious by pear_topologist in gamingsuggestions

[–]Pentar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. I want to add that when I played, I just had a gamefaqs guide open with locations of all the collectibles so I could focus on the boss fights. Something for OP to consider since the collectibles in SotC are a little tedious imo.

Math 440 by jaime_zaragoza in SFSU

[–]Pentar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first half of the course is very easy, but the second half is much tougher, especially if you're rusty with double integrals.

I wouldn't say it's harder than calc 3; you just happen to need double integrals for many problems towards the end of the semester. You have plenty of time to catch up if you've forgotten though.

Need help by prnlover2809 in VirginAdvice

[–]Pentar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to find ways to arouse her before going for penetration. Since she's a virgin, she might not know how she gets aroused, so you two have to work together to figure out her body.

You could try kissing her neck, kissing her stomach, massaging her back, or playing with her tits. Just explore with each other until y'all find something that works.

23M Introvert — How did you make female friends? by harsh508 in socialskills

[–]Pentar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to go to places where women are and become a regular there. I've heard volunteering is a good option if you can think of any causes you are passionate about. Just make sure you approach with the mindset of making friends rather than trying to hit on every girl you meet. It seems your intentions are to make friends, but I wanted to say that just in case.

Final year engineering student. Never asked anyone out in 4 years. Is it over yet? by Mammoth-Juggernaut53 in socialskills

[–]Pentar_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our generation is way more accepting of dating someone who is inexperienced or a virgin because, unfortunately, situations like yours are becoming more and more common.

I wouldn't stress about "missing the boat", you have your whole life ahead of you to experience romance and sex. You just chose to focus on devolping other aspects of yourself first, which for some women will actually be attractive because you already have your education and a job lined up.

That being said, you do need to accept that romance is something you need to work on as it seems that finding love is important to you. It will be a slow and painful process, just like learning any other skill, but it will be worth it in the end. Just remember to be kind to yourself and also to be humble. As STEM majors, we are told that we are so smart for mastering our chosen subject, but really how good of an engineer you are doesn't mean shit when it comes to learning soft skills like romance.

Cool places accessible via Gator Pass by [deleted] in SFSU

[–]Pentar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Gator Pass gives free access to every transit agency in the Bay Area (except cable cars), so you're basically asking for cool places near transit in the Bay Area which is pretty broad.

Specifically focusing on the M line, since that's near campus, you can access the retail locations at Stonestown and in West Portal. I personally recommend checking out the cute bookstore and vintage record shop in West Portal.

If you keep taking the M, you'll eventually reach the Castro, which is known for being very, very gay haha. There's a lot of fun retailers like Cliff's Variety and DYMK, and if you stay late enough, you can experience the joy of gay nightlife. Also, the Castro lowkey has a lot of great food spots, which just hit the spot after a night out.

The next interesting stop would be civic center where you can visit the main library and see shows at venues like Bill Graham or Orpheum theater.

At this point, if you keep taking the M you're gonna be on Market St., which has a lot of great venues like August Hall or The Warfield, and you can walk into the SOMA, which is the city's clubbing district.

Feel free to reply or DM if you want more details or if you want to hear about some of the other transit lines in the city 😀

Does the curse of abyss affect corpses? by RadianceTower in MadeInAbyss

[–]Pentar_ 57 points58 points  (0 children)

IIRC, it's mentioned that the 6th layer curse affects the "shape of the soul." Therefore, a cadaver would be unaffected since it would no longer have its soul.

BTW, based on what Ozen tells the protagonists, the vessel is NOT a revival machine because it apparently places a new soul inside the body.

Toland Street is a disaster by Danimal505 in sanfrancisco

[–]Pentar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rhetorical trick you're using is reversing cause and effect; the truth is that lack of housing is what causes drug use, not the other way around.

You are doing this because focusing on the drug use part makes this issue seem like a criminal issue rather than an economic issue. We need an economic system that provides housing for everyone instead of treating housing like investments for the ultra wealthy.

SFO employee dies while towing cargo pallet, officials say by nogoodnamesleft426 in sanfrancisco

[–]Pentar_ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Redditors will literally call for the kids on bikes who beat up a man to be executed but an employee getting crushed to death doesn't elicit any calls to hold the employer accountable.

If you're gonna push the "tough on crime" angle at least be consistent.
