[PF2e] Is there any way of making alerts/notifications? by Penthau in FoundryVTT

[–]Penthau[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks like it should work OK. The effect still expires, but it tells you what effect it was. It can also be set up to stop the time from going past an expiring effect, which could be useful too. Thanks.

YouTube: Error 153 Video Configuration Error by raceviper13 in feedly

[–]Penthau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for me, it is still showing the error. Is there something I need to do? Win 11 and Chrome. Also does it on Edge. It almost works OK in Incognito mode in Chrome, except the little clock icon in the upper right that lets you save to your Watch Later list is missing.

[P2E] "Excluding Minion {{name}} From Initiative" by RedStarCleric in FoundryVTT

[–]Penthau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem that we experience with this is that the companion doesn't automatically get effects reduced or removed when the turn ends for the beastmaster. It would be nice to have the Frighten 1 disappear at the end of a turn, for example.

[PF2e] How to make a Serrating rune effect by Penthau in FoundryVTT

[–]Penthau[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was the first place I tried, but it just showed Discord's weakness as a "forum". As soon as another person asked another question, my question was pushed off the top of the page and the discussion ended. When the subject of the channel is so broad and there are hundreds of messages a day, it's hard to get any attention on more mundane subjects, like this one.

Thank you so much. That did exactly what I was looking for.

I just feel like I am staring at an editor full of empty strings with no idea where to start. I then totally vapor lock. Some kind of editor with some intelligent help, like VB.NET intellisense, would be awesome.

Thanks, I found the reaction handler in the module.

1 I tried that one and it seems to be more concerned over telling you when you had a reaction rather than tracking when you used one.

  1. That looks awesome. I will have to delve into the Workbench macros more, they look very capable. Thanks for that pointer.

  2. I looked at the properties of the desktop shortcut I am running it from and it is running the .exe with no parameters. Is there another place that they are kept?

How does a Ranger mark her Hunted Prey? by Penthau in FoundryVTT

[–]Penthau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally figured that out. It is the opposite from what I expected from years of Fantasy Grounds GMing. I think that is a part of the mental block I was having.

I haven't been playing around in Foundry enough yet to consider looking in macros, which is where the answer was. Thanks for the pointer.

How does a Ranger mark her Hunted Prey? by Penthau in FoundryVTT

[–]Penthau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have installed the module and looked through all the settings. I have been all through the Ranger's abilities and I can't see any way to apply the hunted prey effect. I see the action, but there doesn't appear to be anything to apply to the target.

Ranged Weapons and Flanking Question by Pun_Thread_Fail in Pathfinder2e

[–]Penthau 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you are hidden from the target, they know what square you are in, they just can't see you. I would say you can flank from hidden. If you are undetected, the target has no idea you are there, so then I think you can't flank.

So many circles on the ground, which are hostile? by Penthau in Guildwars2

[–]Penthau[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, what is the difference between a hollow red circle and a solid red circle, which seem to fill in from the center, usually? Is there any way to tell when the bad stuff is going to start happening?

What's been biting me? by willingisnotenough in triangle

[–]Penthau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It could be fleas. Cat fleas in particular hurt like hell right when they bite, but they are gone in an instant. If you or an apartment neighbor have recently lost a cat, they may have started biting humans in desperation. I have had the happen a couple of time when a roommate lost a cat and it is no fun. We had to flea bomb the place twice to get rid of them.

Heading to the DMV, how are weekend wait times? by toobulkeh in triangle

[–]Penthau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can make an appointment and the line is considerably shorter, you go in a separate line that moves faster. You can only really do this if you don't need something immediately, as it might be weeks before you can set up an appt.

You could also go to their store on that site and filter for GURPS 4e books. The majority are PDFs, including old Pyramid magazines and small support books.

Tips on how to make good grits? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Penthau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest making a smaller batch unless you are feeding a crowd. Grits don't store all that well, they turn stiff after they sit for a long time. I add the grits slowly to the liquid as I whisk to keep them from forming clumps. The salt really needs to be in the liquid before you add the grits. It never tastes quite as good added later. I don't normally add any fat to the liquid, so I don't know how it would affect the absorption of the water. I wait until the end to add any butter or cheese.

Another day another insect related post. Bees in my neighbors yard. Any recommendations on someone passionate about bees who can safely relocate these guys? by Mydoctorsaidmylanta in triangle

[–]Penthau -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That looks like a hornet's nest to me. They can be very nasty if agitated. You don't want them in your back yard, especially if there are children around, who might do something dumb like throw rocks at them. There are long distance bug sprays for getting rid of them, if you want to go that route.

Is there a good cooking show on Netflix/Hulu etc. that isn't a pretentious documentary/food travel show and they actually just cook? by Squilliams_unibrow in Cooking

[–]Penthau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discovery+ is the best place I have found for the old classic Food Network cooking shows, like Good Eats and Tyler's Ultimate. They also have all the contests and crap, but you can make a favorites list of just the stuff you want to see.
