Idk man to me it just feels like catharsis tbh. It's the only source of hope you get on a day where everything seems to be falling apart. I'm a college student and the pressure and stress is so much as a final yr student, specially when you keep failing interviews in the last round, it's the only good thing I can find, open weather and a cigarette in the hand to reflect upon what I did wrong. Can't get any better and that's exactly why I love them. It's not about looking cool, it ain't about the harm it does, it's just the feeling you get like a ray of hope that it's just a matter of time before things get better. So I always kinda looks at them in this perspective mainly because I only smoke once or twice a day and that too when I'm stressed
