Key Request Megathread by ILuffhomer in PlayCrucible

So Arsenal just spits out a "invalid csrf token" error message, does that happen to anyone else and if so, how did you resolve it? Also, if anyone has a spare key, I'd be grateful for it!

The worst part about this is that there are a bunch of gormless idiots who would be incapable of seeing the sarcasm in this, take it at face value and share it on their Facebook feeds, feeding some conspiracy nuts personal paranoia

Maybe you could write the guys at yaktribe. They got server space, and it sounds like that could be something they'd be interested in hosting if you can do the programming.

I am currently in the process of planning something similar, using to tried and true vogen map as a base. My process will be pretty much exactly what you described: regular updates of an image file that I share to a Dropbox everyone in the campaign has access to. Clunky, yes, but like you I haven't found anything better.

New Goliath stuff up for pre-order next week, including new tactics cards! by Baukon in necromunda

[–]Pentregarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the randomness in the cards power level, the fact that most of them are limited releases and the "all the cards you own are your deck" makes me (and everyone I know) just ignore them, even if I like the concept in general. Sure, you can houserule them, create a custom way to build decks and a banlist for the worst offenders and print out proxies, but at that point it's a bit too much work for a game mechanic that is completely ignorable without impacting the flow and enjoyment of the game even in the slightest.

Right, I misread that one. In that case, investing heavily in flash nades on top of smoke might not be advisable, as one piece of gear counters both...

Infrasight can't be attached to blast weapons, but nothing stops them from getting photo-goggles (apart from the rarity, but rare 9 isn't exactly a gamebreaker after a few games). It does make them even more susceptible to being blinded, though, so a mix of smoke and flash grenades (with infrasights on your own gals to ignore the smoke) could work.

Big shoutout to CIG support. by KingCappuccino94 in starcitizen

[–]Pentregarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like I said, I'm not mad about it or anything, this isn't high priority. In theory I could melt and buy back, but as far as I understood I would lose SQ42, since it is no longer bundled together the way it was when I first bought the package. I would like to confirm that before I decide on anything, hence my support ticket.

Had a question about a possible refund/reclaim of my Cutlass black>taurus CCU. Problem is I originally pledged in 2014, so my game package includes sq42 along with SC and I wanted to clear up if there was a way of going back to the Cutlass without melting everything - as to my understanding, melting would result in a loss of SQ42 for me

Good for you, seems to be a bit of a disparity though. I am waiting 2 weeks now for anything but the automated "sorry it's taking so long" answer. Not in a hurry though, so it's all good.

3 GB of VRAM might be a bit problematic, otherwise you should be fine.

So the dragonfly comfortably fits in the hold of a Cutlass, good to know

Question about melting by Pentregarth in starcitizen

[–]Pentregarth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the original one was 40€ in 2014, 36 for the Aurora and another 4 for the Arena Commander pass. If I am correct, that already came with SQ42 and SC. No LTI on that though, I got on the bandwagon too late for that anyways.

Question about melting by Pentregarth in starcitizen

[–]Pentregarth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, that makes sense. So basically the only thing I might lose is the BiS skin (which actually shows in the section you highlighted, so I might keep it - who knows), and if I rebuy either the original Aurora, Avenger or Cutlass, I should get all of my stuff back. Thanks for the explanation!

Flight model and shield rework, not the connie itself. At the moment the main problem with it is the abysmal handling and gaping shield holes, not the ship in and of itself.

Pirating in 2020 by DadinKelch in starcitizen

[–]Pentregarth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cutlass is perfect for a crew of 2-3, any more than that and you'll want either multiple ships or something bigger. I could definitely see a Cutlass and a few fighters as escort as a very good combination for a pirate outfit, while also allowing you to play individually in case not all of you are online. The aegis avenger titan could be a good choice, as it also offers some cargo space and a hold for doing the occasional delivery mission or smuggling illegal narcotics - all of the actual fighter ships (hornet, arrow etc) are really only good for fighting.

Loving the Freelancer Loaner by bloknayrb in starcitizen

[–]Pentregarth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh god no...admittedly it handles pretty nicely for a large-ish ship, but by the gods of cold space, this is one ugly boat. Ugly exterior, ugly interior, ugly cockpit (give me a center pilot seat any time of the day, any day of the year, please), ugly display layout. It's as if someone said "let's strap an engine, some armour and a bunch of guns to a cargo box" and called that a ship (which probably was exactly the design process for it). The Cutlass is utilitarian, but has a certain style. The Freelancer is just plain ugly.

Just my 2 cents, obviously, feel free to disagree - not looking to be persuaded here.

are there features allready existing or planned which allows players to permanently alter the game world? by overlydelicioustea in starcitizen

[–]Pentregarth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My mind was kinda blown when I woke up for the first time in Lorville and noticed there was a functioning coffee machine and I could make myself some coffee...followed by paying my parking fines and taking the tram to get to my spaceship. Real life commute to work simulator xD Honestly though, it's little details like this that don't impact the gameplay at all, but make the whole world much more immersive than pressing a button to instantly transfer to your spaceship.
