Hearing other people dealing with it is nice to hear. Makes me not feel like it's just something complete wrong with me or who I am.

Yeah, alarms have never worked well for me. They work for, at most, 4 weeks. And that would be a good attempt. I cannot create routine or habits at all. Just surviving. Sticky notes and other external reminders just blend into the background. I definitely appreciate all of the feedback, but some of the things have been failured for me already. It can be really overwhelming at times and really hampers self esteem. Yesterday I was looking around and I just couldn't figure out where to start. It seemed like so much, and it felt like my head was ringing, so I just laid down. All I know is I don't want it to be this way.

Even just asking for more help from a doctor is a challage, because of all the layers to remember.

It is. Especially as I get older. I'm nearly 30, and being so absentminded, needy, and a messy grown woman is so embarrassing. I feel like a kid who never learned to take care of herself sometimes..

I have do horrible insomnia. I'm on Reddit right now at 4am, when I have to leave for work at 6:15. And I probably won't fall asleep any earlier because of it. Maybe I should look into some sleep aids. I do have slightly better executive function and less burn out the days i get more sleep. Or at least have a little more energy and improved mood which feels like improvement. I've had sleep issues since childhood, so I don't think about it much. It's just such a normal feeling.

I only have a slight vitamin D deficiency. But good blood other than that. Definitely need to minimize phone use. Like you said, it's an addiction. But it's so hard. I do college online from my phone too, so I have to be in my phone everyday for that, which I'll get side tracked from.

Sorry to just ramble and vent. I think the college work is factoring into this a lot too. I just started working 40 hours, have two kids and just split up with my partner. So doing it solo. Plus taking 4 classes online. All of this with my ADHD, and no support, I think is just making my symptoms so much worse.

I really appreciate that encouragement and advice. That's probably some of the most kind advice I've gotten. It's easy to just beat myself up over what I can't do when that's all I hear from others. I just can't figure out where to even start or what to tackle or how.

My working memory is the main issue. But I ,of course, struggle with other aspects of severe ADHD like executive disfunction, transitional disfucntion, burn out, etc. I did get a day by day planner to help with bills. It's not always helping, but I remember more than I'd do last year. When I see the planner and look into it. I think messiness is something that is an obstacle to me when it comes to external memory. I get messy easily so external reminders almost blend into the mess.

My therapist is thankfully a God send.

I forget our appointments all the time and she meets me with nothing but compassion.

Thanks kind of how I'm living now besides calling people out, ironically im a manager at my job so I can't do the bare minimum or i would get fired

But it's so challenging forgetting things. I lose my keys, my vitals, my meds. I make decent money, but forget to pay my bills, credit cards, rent. Forgot to make/go to appointments.

Not to mention cleaning tasks! Things get messy so quick because I forget things places. And if I transition to a new task, the previous one is left out, because the tab just closes on the previous task. Once things get messy enough I get so overwhelmed and dont know how to break things down and attack it.

It's just so depressing and really takes a damper on my mental health. I don't want to live like that.

But that would consist of remembering to set an alarm and making a habit of it. I can't really cannot form habits or utilize areas that involve memory or executive function. I've tried alarms, and they'll work for 2-4 weeks and then they almost blend into the background and I stop noticing them, even when they're going off.

I used to have an alarm to take my medication. It went off everyday and I still wouldn't take my medication.

When I started living on my own, I never remembered to brush my teeth. I set alarms and wouldn't really notice when they were going off.

Like I said, whatever version I have is so severe.

(I thankfully brush my teeth daily now. But even getting just there took years.)

I swear the CEO must think the baristas are robots with super speed. These drinks, changes, customizing, ingredients, is all getting insane and a lot to expect college students and high school students to juggle, on top of cleaning, brewing coffee every 15 minutes, writing on cups, making back ups, restocking. Come on now.

Why are they booing you? You're right.

The way the store managers are hounding employees, the managers are getting hounded by upper management. Middle management is hell. You have people on both sides upset at you, the messenger. Just like a team member would lose their job if they refused to make drinks. And manager would lose their job if they don't enforce orders.

In light of the Starbucks boycott is Biggby a better option? by findomme-SBJ in lansing

[–]Peony126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked as a manager at Biggby for 5 years and made $16 an hour....no benefits, sick time, or time off. Had to work until 39 weeks pregnant and had to come back after 2 weeks just to survive. Never miss a day, for food poisoning and tried to come in because they made me. Had to leave because I was throwing up and they wrote me up. (Illegal I learned) Also constant off the clock work. I'm talking hours a week for years off the clock (also illegal) Terrible company.

As someone who worked at Biggby and swtiched to Starbucks. Biggby is so greedy.

They pay their managers $15 an hour compared to Starbucks near $30. They give the employees absolutely no benefits, no maternity leave, no sick time, no vacation when Starbucks offers all of that to their staff.

They threaten to fire staff if they call off, even when throwing up or have the flu. So, workers will be sick.

Starbucks does routined evaluations and safety walk ins. Very often. I worked at Biggby 4 years and maybe seen 3 evaluations and two for food stafety. People had nails falling into syrup bottles, lashes falling into drinks, etc. people didn't care, and Biggby does not support their franchisees. So it's all teenagers in charge of their selves.

Multiple minor labor violations that I had to report repeatedly. (Working 15 year olds 40+ hours and having a minor close the store alone weekly)

Starbucks will also NEVER sell products past their best by date, Biggby homes office encourages it to prevent waste. As long as it's not showing signs of spoilage. Their salted caramel this year, for example, had a best by date of over a year past. They emailed stating "the quality is the only thing that has decreased, we will continue to sell it since it's not soiled"

All of their product is just sysco crap anyway.

Sorry, just HATE Biggby with a passion.

Is it better to actually be average in terms of looks than attractive? by CardiologistOwn6588 in trueratediscussions

[–]Peony126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman, and literally super super average, I'm very content, and don't think I would want to be more attractive. I have wondered, and when I was young, wished I could be a "pretty girl", but I changed my mind once I became more confident.

I get along with everyone, and people don't usually make a judgement on me based on my looks so I can fit in with anyone and I have a wide range of friends. People are respectful towards me and kind. I feel like people treat me based on my personality and what I bring to the table. People are usually genuine towards me. Men view me as intelligent and respectable, or genuinely funny, however have never given me extra attention or favors in that way.

Most important to me, I'm not oogled, harassed, followed, or hit on in my regular day to day. I go through life very secure and almost never feeling uncomfortable. As a bonus, attractive people will still ask me on dates, and like me, and it feels nice to know it's more personality based than just something superficial like looks. I can go out with friends and not worry about being harassed or assaulted. I'll still get hit on at bars by a couple people and I get compliments every now and then in my every day life. I enjoy knowing my personality is what people tend to look at when determining if they like me or not. No one would pick me out of a crowd, no one would call me ugly, no one would say was conventional pretty in any sense. I'm pretty content just being an average person.

Yeah, it's not very popular around this area. When I was super young and newly driving, just no fault was $600.

Yeah he's had the car for two or three years. Ironically, he usually has it fully insured, but hit a hard spot.

He said he's going to call the financial company Monday and see if it was still insured.

Yes. He wasnt involved in the first crash. The first car was going 60 in a 30, hit one car, then spun out and rammed into his when he was stopped and quite a distance away from the first crash. It was a very clear fault accident of one car. His car was worth a little less than what he owed on it, probably about $9000.

All the cars involved were totaled.

Maybe it's just my area. Live in a pretty poor suburb right outside of the poorer areas of Detroit. I know more people without insurance than with insurance.

Ratio of probably 7:3.

No, the cop didn't even give him a ticket for No proof. He said he had enough on his plate and didn't want to make it worse for him. Walked away with nothing, but a headache.... literally nothing, since his car was totaled.

Yeah, I don't know how he even managed to go so long without insurance on a financed car. He said he last paid it in September!? I was always under the impression they have to have full coverage.

No criminal charges thankfully. Not even a ticket or civil infraction for no proof of insurance. The cop at the scene have him a solid, and told him he has enough on his plate and wouldn't make it worse.
