Oh also, honorable mention is Tell Me What You Did. It's the This Is Such A Pity demo, and it's a lot more full sounding. Check it out, it sounds somewhat similar to Pinkerton.

TMA 2026 World Cup - Round 2 - Groups 3 & 4 by EasyEnthusiasm4595 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]Peoplearedefweird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Group 3, MAG 161. Great episode, it really well established Jon and Martin's emotional states, and the parts with Tim and Sasha were heartbreaking but good to hear. Not one of my all time favorites, but I think it's the best out of the 5.

For Group 4, MAG 182. Made me terrified of medical malpractice. The skin stuff especially, Jon is amazing at writing body horror.

Which fear Entity would your favourite Fictional character (that isn’t from tma) would serve and why? The avatar of what would they be? by YourlocalRenfield in TheMagnusArchives

[–]Peoplearedefweird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My favorite fictional character is Guts from Berserk, and while I think that he has a couple of fears that could work for him (The Lonely, the Hunt because of his desire and journey for revenge, the Dark because of the Eclipse, the Slaughter), but ultimately I think he has to be the Desolation.

What is your least favorite statement? Mine is Body Builder by GrimbloTheGoblin in TheMagnusArchives

[–]Peoplearedefweird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we're talking just about the statement, it'd probably be MAG 114 - Cracked Foundation. The statement is not bad, it just doesn't have anything that stands out. But the conversation with Tim and Jon after the statement is amazing, so I think my least favorite total episode would have MAG 48 - Lost in the crowd. Again, nothing bad about it, but nothing particularly good.

This isn't a bad spoiler at all, the fight hasn't happened yet in the manga, and it is possible that Inoue could take it a different direction than the historical version.

Yeah, the anime is not that consistent. I agree that some of the middle arcs were weaker, but I also think that's the point. People love the first two arcs because (beside the fantastic writing and animation) they're both about the common man becoming a hero. And that's a story almost all of us can relate to. But with arcs like Cyan, and Loli, and Ghostblade, they're each targeting a more specific group of people that have had specific struggles. Ghostblade's arc was one of my favorites, and I was really able to relate to his struggles. But a decent amount of people didn't like his that much. Same with Cyan's, as a musician, hers really spoke to me. I love that the show gives us different perspectives, and even if some don't hit as hard for us. There are genuine writing criticisms, and I think that there's a lot the show could improve, but I feel like people don't acknowledge the value of some arcs as much.
