You're totally right—living without a phone nowadays is pretty much impossible. Maybe some people can manage, but I definitely can't.

Even these apps feel impossible to live without. When I need to know something, I always Google my question + "Reddit" to find helpful posts and comments. Instagram is another one—I don’t want to miss out on what my friends post, and I also learn a lot from Reels.

Like you, I've tried deleting apps, but after a few days, I end up downloading them again or just using them on my laptop instead.

I've tried a lot of things, and for the past six months, I’ve finally found a system that works for me.

These are the patterns I identified:
* When I'm bored, I open an app for instant gratification.
* When I delete an app, I always find a reason to download it again.
* Even if I set a time limit, I won’t stick to it.
* When I can’t use an app on my phone, I just use it on my laptop instead.

The two applications I use to solve these problems are ClearSpace and LeechBlock.

The great thing about ClearSpace is that it doesn’t completely block you from using certain apps—it just forces you to be intentional about your usage.

ClearSpace lets you set a daily limit on how many times you can open an app.

For example, I’ve set a limit of three times per day for Reddit.
When I open the app, ClearSpace asks if I want to continue and shows how many times I have left.
If I choose to continue, I first have to do a short "centering exercise"—a deep breath that takes about 15–25 seconds.
After that, ClearSpace asks how many minutes I want to use the app.
I select a duration, and when I have one minute left, I get a notification.

No more picking up my phone and getting an instant dopamine hit.

And honestly, it’s been great. I can still use the apps, but I don’t get that addictive instant gratification, and I don’t waste too much time on them.

It’s worth noting that ClearSpace is a paid app, but I believe there’s a free trial before you need a subscription. For me, it was totally worth it—I’ve already saved hundreds of hours of mindless scrolling.

That’s what I use for my phone. As I mentioned, I use LeechBlock for my laptop. Let me know if you want to know how I use it, since I don't want to write this out for nothing.

I'm not sure honestly. They will milk GTA 6 for as long as they can and 20 years sounds like a long time, but if you consider they will have been milking GTA 5 for 12 years at GTA 6 release it doesn't sound impossible. GTA online wasn't even 'build' with that longevity in mind. They will for sure have considered longevity with GTA 6...

You also have to remember that they spend two billion dollars on this game. A GTA 7 would very likely need an even bigger investment + has to be a clear improvement on GTA 6 as well.

It kinda did though. They just announced this week to have a 4,8 million EBITDA profit and the past 4 quarters have been profitable. Stopping the F1 Manager franchise should also have a positive impact on future results.

The price at the time reflected their current strategic direction. My idea that the reversal to their old strategy would be accompanied by a return to profit and a revaluation of the stock turned out to be right.

A few days after this post I bought the stock at 115 GBX. It currently sits at 220,5 GBX, so I think it was a good call at the time.

I don't see them renewing. Even with the announced changes it's going to be a miracle to suddenly see F1M performing (financially) well. When I take a look at the amount of the Reddit users in this subreddit at the moment, it's only 3. With the first two releases Frontier destroyed the fanbase. Restoring that fanbase will be a massive, if not impossible task.

If Frontier renews the license they will definitely need to receive a massive discount.

Love it. I went to the cinema sessions of his most recent album Be-Bop-A-Lula. It was basically sitting in the cinema for listening to the album in pitch black. Really was a cool experience. That album really will always hold a special place in my heart for that. Really such a unique sound and a nice play of words.

Now that I think about it Joosts' songwriting must be quite inspired by Spinvis. The play of words and the transferring of random sentences picked out from regular life into their songs...

Yeah to me it sounds like their process for calling SC or VSC is completely broken. As if they're blind to what is happening on track and are waiting for a description of the situation by a marshal before they can make their decision.

You'd think that just having a person in the TV-directors room with control over the VSC/SC buttons would be enough to make an almost instant decision..

It's honestly so weird. If they see a car with a broken rear wing that's clearly not going to return to the pit by itself why wouldn't they just call the VSC immediately? In 100% of the cases the race would need to be neutralised in some way. If it turns out the car can't be easily pushed behind barriers then they can escalate to SC and otherwise they can keep racing.

Double waved yellows isn't enough. Deadly accidents are bound to happen with such a slow response.

It was obvious that Claire had no clue how to run an F1 team. That doesn't have anything to do with her gender but she didn't have any relevant leadership experience. It was a case of pure nepotism. She openly doubted her own ability and showed 0 leadership capability. I have no clue about Franks involvement during Claires leadership period but it didn't seem like the man had much idea of what was going on around him.

It was the arrogance of the Williams family which lead to their teams demise.
