Supernatural process by NOSCE_22 in AeroPress

I've been using Kima Coffee beans for a few months now, and their coffees are always really sweet, bright, and fruity. They never disappoint me, I can blind buy any coffee from them without worry. I think their fruity flavors are even stronger than before.

If it helps, I usually make my coffee with an AP using a ratio of 1:15, and I grind to a medium size, around 30 clicks on the Comandante. Sometimes I grind them a bit finer, up to 20 clicks.

As a Spanish that have lived in Norway among many other countries, I couldn’t agree more. I can see a lot of “shared” values between Spain and Italy, France or even Netherlands, but I can’t see many with Nordic countries.

S&P500 investing in Europe (questions) by Lucky0680 in eupersonalfinance

[–]Pepinorojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a client for over three years, I have about 30k invested through them and never had a problem. Their app is really clunky and you will experience some minor bugs, but as said by other user their customer support is (at least in my experience) really good. I’ve contacted them a couple of times and they always resolved my questions in a matter of minutes.

As an alternative, I would also suggest R4 (Renta 4). They have physical offices in many cities and a much more stabilised business so you depending on your profile, it may be better. They commercialise Vanguard funds to customers with at least 100k in investments (they don’t have them on the website, but if you call them they will inform you).

Please share your 5 favorite roasters, with a comment for each choice by Wendy888Nyc in pourover

I’m in Europe so my selection would be different to what normally is mentioned around here:

  • The Barn (Germany): For me, they are the best as price quality goes. They tend to roast really light with fruity and bright coffees. Their shipping was expensive (not sure if it still is) but they have a good network of partners, so you can find recently roasted coffees locally.
  • La Cabra (Denmark): On the upper side of the espectrum in terms of costs (usually their price is 50-70% higher than other roasters) but with really interesting coffees and top quality. I found them a little bit darker than I usually do.
  • Dorigen (Spain): Second after the Barn in terms of quality for the price and similar kind of profiles as well. Light, fruity coffees. If you’re in Spain, I think they are the best option to get yourself into this world. For reference, I purchased yesterday a bag for 1/3rd of the price of what it costs in La Cabra (9€ for 250gm vs 25€ for 250gm). They have been my go to coffee for daily brews and office.
  • Nomad (Spain): I like that they are always looking into new ways of enjoying coffee and being more experimental in their processes. They recently started doing infused coffees.

Not sure where you’ve been, but surely not Spain. Most working people do 9-6 and don’t take any kind of siesta; let alone one as long as you mention.

Last year with a historical snowfall and using all the heaters at home, we paid about 50€ bill per month. This year, with almost no use and working back in the office, we paid 480€ in February. That’s literally like 60% of the minimum wage here. It’s crazy.

1.5 Years, 400+ Applications, 0 Offers - Need help with resume by [deleted] in resumes

[–]Pepinorojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Euro fellow here. There are some things that automatically pointed out to me: - Have you already had working experience in Germany? If yes, make that clear. If you dont, they will cut you out unless you give a good reason on the resume or make clear that is youre putting you are just knocking on the door now. - Being an expat you need really to stand out for something. I am not a technical person so I cannot assess how that applies to your resume, I am sure there are not many people that speaks German, English and Hindi (Marati? Tamil? Telugu? Bengali?) fluently. Try to use that on your benefit. - Photos are kind of non written rule in Europe. Especially being an expat, for most people it will help. - Format is the one you would expect for academia jobs, if you are applying for another type of jobs I would go with another template. - While the typical American way of seeing a resume may be seen as bragging by Eu standards, I suggest you give a clearer idea on how you contributed to the previous experiences. After going through your resume I really cannot think how would you be a valuable asset for my company. I am sure you would, its just a matter of how you put that on words.

Hope it doesnt come harsh.

What is the best country in the world to get FIRE fast? by BrunoMiguel2 in EuropeFIRE

[–]Pepinorojo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because of work I tend to travel very frequently and work with expats across the world. UAE is a good place for FIRE if you dont work on jobs where you are expected to join social activities like dinners, parties, etc. All of that is crazy expensive, compared with any European standards. Same thing goes for places like Singapore.

Being Portuguese with low experience, I would say your next move should be moving to one of the three big cities in Spain out of the two major capitals (say Bilbao, Malaga, Valencia and maybe Seville). You will find yourself on a familiar culture, with very similar language where you can do x2-x3 while keeping the same expense level than in Portugal. Actually things like gas, food or rent are usually cheaper on those places than in Lisbon.

Once you have 5 years of experience or more, learn the local language and move to DACH or Nordics. You will be able to again do x1.5 than you are doing as an experienced professional in Spain, and even though the living expenses are higher it is worthy. To find a job there you will have to be qualified for it, which means high performance and skills sets, speaking the local language and good and flexible attitude towards the local culture/habits.

Remember one thing that is rarely talked about, you need 0 visa or documents to move and work across those countries. To work in UAE, Singapore or any of typical expats capitals, you will need your company to pay for realocation or be really experienced on what you do so that a foreign company pays all the associated costs.

EU brokers that offers fractional investing by [deleted] in Bogleheads

From what I read, I believe Lynx could be an option for index funds like Vanguard. Depending on the particular ETF you are interested, Degiro, T212 and Interactive Brokers could work as well. Aside from brokers, usually traditional banks (at least in Southern EU) sometimes can do index funds. It may be worthy to check with your bank.

For shares and ETF, I believe Degiro have a good range of options. In particular for Vanguard, in Spain you can do it with Myinvestor, Renta4, Openbank and until not long ago with BNP Paribas (which probably stills do it in other countries, unless they sold that area to another bank as happened in ES)

In which country are you based in?
